Social networking or advertising?
I have a moral question for all of you. Is there a line between social networking and advertising? I stumbled across this user's stream: http://brightkite.com/people/findmesexy and noticed that its more of an advertising stream than it is not.
It seems the goal has something to do with indexing and hits.
Does Brightkite frown on this or have any policies against it? I know of others who are using BK for advertising but they are much more subtle as they are actually posting real events related to themselves and periodically drop in an item or service they sell.
I'm just curious on this topic.

Inappropriate?Hi Rod, we appreciate your concern in this matter. I have attached a section of our Terms of Service:

Sections 5 and 8 state that the site must be used for personal, non-commercial purposes and that spamming other users is prohibited.
I took a look at the profile you linked to and while they started out with a few posts plugging their business, all of their recent activity has been more personal with only a handful of business related posts. They have not been spamming people in any way and it doesn't look like they are really abusing their account.
If someone is blatantly using their Brightkite account for advertising and/or spamming other users, then we will definitely become involved. I hope that helps answer your question some.
