Twitter tweets do not reflect the pick-a-place feature
Using the iPhone application on a 3G iPhone, if you use the "Find-Me" then "Pick-a-Place" tool and follow this with a Check In, your account in Brightkite is updated correctly, but Twitter gets a vague tweet with the location where the GPS thinks you are. The Twitter tweet is not updated with the "Pick-a-Place" information you choose from this feature.

Inappropriate?Hi devonr, this is actually a known problem with the place hierarchy. The app is checking you in correctly, but since you're in private mode set to city level you're seeing some screwy results when that information gets shared with Twitter. We are currently working on this problem and hope to have it resolved soon.

Awesome! Thanks. That sounds like it is related to another thing I noticed. You probably can see I am in private mode. I guess I thought if I was in private mode it would not tweet to Twitter. That would seem to make sense (an idea)
If my mode is set to private, no tweet.
If I set my mode to public, the tweet is sent to Twitter.
Thanks for the quick reply! -
If you set your activity to "hidden" for everyone else when you are in private mode, then your updates will not share to Twitter. We have it so that posts set to city level still share because that gives people an in-between option if they don't necessarily want to disclose their full location but still want to send updates to Twitter.
