Ubiquitous post a note?
Would it be possible to add the "post a note" button to every screen? It'd be nice to not have to go back to my profile (which loads slowly, but will hopefully speed up with the new iron) just to post a note.

Inappropriate?Things should be a bit snappier now, we just pushed some performance optimizations.
Adding "Post a note" to every screen might be a bit difficult, because we only have a limited amount of screen real estate. We'll think about it.

Inappropriate?It seems to me that posting is one of the key aspects of bkite, and making it not-so-easy to do so feels counterintuitive. IMNSHO, the buttons should reside under the "Places" search bar and maybe move the examples to the greyed out text inside the text field.1 Comment Add a comment

vafarmboy, we appreciate the suggestion, but I'm afraid that we're going to pass on it for now.
There are certain implications that wouldn't make this a good UI choice in our opinion (context, non-checked in state, etc.)

Inappropriate?I totally agree with vafarmboy. I think the SMS interface to BrightKite is fantastic, and I'd like the web version to allow me the same flexibility to accomplish my main tasks (posting, checking in) from anywhere.
