Inappropriate?Hi Alex.
You can check in using venue names now.
From the web use the search box pull down, select "businesses", enter the venue name and city. You can then check in on the resulting place page.
From text message (SMS) you can text ?VENUENAME. You can then check in at the resulting venue.
Example: ?Bluebird Theater
Note: The ? sms command will search find the venue around your last checked in location. If you have moved more than 30 miles since your last check in you will need to first check in in the new city, then use the ? command to find the venue. -
Inappropriate?Hmm... I think the original question should have been phrased. "I know you can search and then check-in..but I want to know if you could check in like that "other" system. (eg @lulu's) I think the problem is that since BK doesn't limit you to a city implicitly .. it has to know where you are. This is a pro and a con. BUT .. someday .. mebbe the system will know where you are and you will be able to check in at the system w/o "searching."
