Where is the LEAVE function on the main website?
The FAQ on the site mentions a LEAVE command you can send in an SMS and/or email that is effectively an undo for a check in. Sounds nice to use when starting travel for instance; I can then check in at the new location I arrive at when I get there and I want Brightkite users to know where I am again.
How do I access that LEAVE functionality from the main website? I don't seem to be able to find it...

Inappropriate?peSHIr, we don't have a LEAVE button on the main website just yet, so you can only do this via SMS or email at the moment. We are working on getting this function in there, it's just a matter of getting some higher priority items out of the way first.

Inappropriate? In addition to having LEAVE on the main site, there should be some way of optionally automatically leaving after a certain amount of time.
My point of view is the main value of Brightkite is the location information, but if that information is false, then that devalues Brightkite as a whole.
I'm not sure how best to present this. One could have a preference "auto checkout leave after X hours" or one could have an option when checking in "Checked into Brightkite HQ (for two hours)." I'm sure there's other ways to do this too. -
Inappropriate?Just be sure to include the functionality in the API too (or: first), so other apps posting location info to Brightkite can invalidate the current location on the site when they "go on the move".
Also, the suggestion of "auto leave" by raven sounds wonderful! When I check in at work, I'd bound to be out of there after about 8,5 hours, in litterally any instance.
So it could be part of the check in procedure - like raven mentioned - and/or part of the settings for a placemark, like an auto-expiration time period for that particular placemark. So just when I check in at work, after the 8,5 hours I added to the placemark settings auto-leave would check me out of that location.
I’m Hopeful, but will be happy when at least (normal) LEAVE makes it to the normal website.
