Preview mode for goups and users
currently, you have to join a group to see what is happening in it and then leave if it is not what you thought it was.
By being able to preview the group, you can see if it might be interesting and join it and also how actice it is and who the memebers are.
regarding preview of users, this would help when looking at the "nearby" list, as you could see their real name, group membership and possibly current location name.

Inappropriate?What was happening is easy to see when joining a group. Who is in that group is a bit more of a problem since ou have to navigate to that Option - wh not show who is currently on the group when ou join it?
I see there no real reason to implement a preview function, just the need for some sort of "On Join Group" function, that tells you who is in the group as the group is told that ou just joined
And your last idea is reall interesting - get into more easil into contact with the prople around ou is always nice to have.
