On BumpTop, there should be a feature that lets you pay a video without opening another window. With image files, you can see the image without opening it, and you should be able to do the same with movies. Having play and pause buttons on the video icon, along with pinning the file to the wall or center of the floor and enlarging it to watch without having to leave your desktop. I'd love to see this, or something along the lines of this when I get my Beta Invite. Thanks... sorry for my horrible grammar.
In the new video on ohgizmo, the image files are actual thumbnails where as they're generic icons in the old video (on the mainsite)*. Can the user make that switch or did you just add that feature? Is there similar previewing of thumbnails for word and video files?
Also, I'd really love to browse and organize my music library the way you handle pictures in the new video. But you know, just one cover/image embedded in a transparent jewel case png that's a shortcut to a m3u playlist or something. I consider the scroll and search interface of iTunes, WMP, and really every media player ever to be as archaic as the 2D desktop. So, will BumpTop make make my music browsing dreams come true?
*I just checked and the TED video had image thumbnails, my bad!
I think this interface should be integrated into an editing program, such as Avid, Adobe premiere or Apple's Final Cut Pro.
as an editor Iwould love to have a physical side to my clips and projects, something that was lost some years ago with the transition to all-digital editing. I would love to see that side of physical editing coming back.
