3D electrical items that work!
Some ideas around 3D furniture, so what about a 3D hifi that runs your audio files when you throw them at it, a flatscreen that plays movie files that are chucked at it, a shredder that shreds any file heaved in it's direction, a toaster that "burns" files to DVD, or a microscope that opens the correct app when a document is thrown at it.

Inappropriate? This is a terrific idea. Extend this to viewing video files as well. Great concept.
I’m happy

Inappropriate? That is an awesome idea! I love it!
It would probably be best to simply act as though the file was double-clicked - open in the default player.
I’m excited

Inappropriate? That's a pretty good idea. I already worked on the model for the movie file viewing. BumpTube.
I also worked on:
Recycle Bin
BumpPrint

Inappropriate? This is a great idea! I've often wanted a program that is an all in one utility, and BumpTop is easily on the way

Inappropriate? It's a fun idea, and I like it, but I think that it's outside of what BumpTop is attempting to accomplish. Let me dissect it a little.
If what you want is an electricity simulation, then what you would wind up with in reality is a toy on the inside (like Falling Sand or Life) with functionality no better than a slow scripted object on the outside. Scripted objects are cool, and they will probably be fun over time (it would be fun to have a robot wander around and re-arrange my icons based on an algorithm), but having an electricity simulation under the hood would really just be an obstacle to adoption.
If you want to use a physical environment to link the results of one program to the input of another then you're talking about either a Graphical Development Environment or a Graphical Process Control tool, of which there are already several in the works.
In general, I'd say that something like this sounds like a fun idea, but BumpTop would just wind up duplicating something that's going on elsewhere in a way that distracts from their primary goals.

Inappropriate?i dont get the microscope as windows handles this already, but good ideas nonetheless
