when installing the new bumptop version, why do I have to give you access to my computer (user control)?

Inappropriate? To install, we need to write to Program Files and set a few registry keys, as well as install the BumpTop Explorer Extension. We understand your hesitation to give access to a random program, but since we (and a couple thousand other beta users) are running the exact same builds on our machines, we hope that you'll consider making an exception! :)

Inappropriate?I really don't understand why this is necessary. No other program I have needs to do this.
I’m confused

Inappropriate? There's been no further explanation of this requirement. Why not? Why do you need to access my PC for a simple upgrade?
I’m really really really annoyed

Inappropriate?Hi Alberto,
The current upgrade process actually just reinstalls BumpTop anew, which is useful for us since we are still in the process of determining exactly which files we need for the final product and don't want to leave lingering files on our user's machines. As for why BumpTop requires admin access during the installation, that has already been explained above and is not unlike the installation of other highly integrated Windows applications like Photoshop or Office. After installation, BumpTop will just run with your user permissions and security level. -
Inappropriate?Photoshop and Office have never asked for such permission. BUT in any case if they did, it is Adobe and Windows, not your company -- and I'm sorry but I don't know you from Adam.
I’m still upset
