Bump 2 Panes - Beta sign-up! - Drop your windows to Bumptop.
Well the day has come. We are ready to start the Bump 2 Panes Beta testing phase. It should be ready and posted by late tonight, so I wanted to start collecting some testers for it.
Just a little background first though. Bump 2 Panes is a Window management tool for Bumptop and works as a replacement to the minimize button. For now your windows will still minimize to the taskbar, but a representation of the window will also drop to your Bumptop. The windows have an option to either drop into a specified folder (which you can then Bump this Folder to view as a pile), or directly to the desktop.
When viewed in a pile you can flip through your windows or view them in grid view(Expose style). Like all piles act in Bumptop. As usual you can drag a window from Grid view to the desktop. but this may make another copy of it in the folder.
We added a scale slider for the initial size of the windows. 1.0 is Desktop Icon size and 6.0 is 1/3 your desktop space. So be aware of the space these take up.
I will post pics and a video later on today. But I need some testers for this to go anywhere. So send me an e-mail at Jon@indakind.com containing the info bellow:
Name:
Machine Specs:_______ RAM:______ OS:______ Bumptop Ver:______ Graphics Chipset:_______
How do you intend to help out either Indakind Designs or Bumptop in the testing of this widget?:
Do you have a Blog?___ Could you make a video and post it on your blog?

Inappropriate?I wanted to say that the video will be put up by the beginning of next week and we will be rolling with the beta then also.
Let me know what you all want to see with this add-on for bumptop. PLEASE!
Thanx -
Inappropriate?Well I guess one good idea would be a good integration of Windows Live Messenger. If real time preview is present that would be awesome. One idea for WLM is to make the icons for the contacts show up when he sends you a message. His display name would appear on top of the icon and maybe a small speech bubble containing his message. Another thing that could be possible is merging windows together into tabs. Example: You have two Firefox windows open and you want to marge their tabs together. You drag one window to another and they merge with some kind of merging animation. When you open that window, it will have the tabs from both windows.
Well those are my suggestions for now. :P -
Inappropriate?Based on some of the ideas we have seen floating around for this type of widget. We have decided to make Bump 2 Panes a bit more functional. So We are working on getting a beta out real soon.
Keep your eyes peeled
