Cannot install. Problem with Visual C++ redistributable.
Every time I try to install Bumptop, I get a dialog box that says

The feature you are trying to use is located in a network resource that is not available.
Click OK to try again or write in the following textbox an alternate path to a folder that contains the installation package "vcredist.msi"
Use source:

Of course if I click on OK it does not work. When I click on Cancel I get the error:
----------
Error 1714. Cannot delete the previous version of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable. Please contact technical support group.
[OK]
-----
And then:
-----
BumpTop.exe - Application error
Application failed to initialize (0xc0150002). Click OK to close the application.

And then Windows reports the application crashed:

Inappropriate?Hi there,
Sorry to hear of your troubles!
Can you manually install this package first?
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/de...
Let me know if you get an error with that one too... we should then check to see if you have other C++ redistributables already installed in Add/Remove Programs and attempt to remove them completely. -
Inappropriate?Thank you for your response!
Nope, same thing happened.
I went to Add/Remove programs, and did find a "Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable". But when I tried to remove it, the same thing happened!! (see pic).
The dialog says what I posted in the first message. "The feature you are trying to use..."
The funny thing is I don't recall ever installing Visual C++ in this computer. Or maybe it got here with another program?
Is this then an issue to be taken to other forums?
I’m confused

Inappropriate?Found the solution.
(It seems to be a somewhat common problem, and it affects many different pieces of software).
1. Download the Windows Installer Cleanup utility.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301/
2. Install it.
3. Launch it. Scroll down and select any "Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable" entries you see (should be only one).
4. Select it, and remove it using the utility.
5. Reinstall Bumptop
I’m happy
