Could not lot BTShExt.dll at location BTShExt.dll

But actually I got this error in a different situation.

I was trying to delet some random shortcut and bumptop crashed.
Fine.
So, I again Launched Bumptop.
From then onwards, till I restarted my PC, I got this error while clicking the more button anywhere.

So how to really solve this issue?

I got the same problem during installation. Only difference is mine didn't install successfully.

I also had this problem when installing on laptop. It happened right after installation, when BumpTop launches for the first time, as well as whenever I try to launch BT after that.

Look, this problem happens when you install bumptop, when it launches for the first time, and that problem also means I cannot use Bump This Folder, the button does not appear in my folders.
I've downloaded all versions and updates since then, and the problem is still the same. With all due respect, enough people have complained about it, so if you can't solve the problem or don't think it's worth looking into, at least explain what does it mean or give us something to work with!

I'm also seeing this bug. It doesn't affect the desktop bumping but naturally it prevents me from bumping a folder. If I try enable "bump this folder explorer toolbar" then it complains about BtShExt.dll like it did during install.

I'm running XP. Bumptop build 1859.

im also getting this problem, it happened on install, but bump top still started, i cant however go into bumptop settings, and it doesnt let me bump things together.. but does have a sense of gravity.. it lets me do some wimple things with groups of files i.e pile them, fan them, grid view and flip book mode. It also lets me hing things on the walls, but i cant actually customise bumptop the way i want to. i tried rebooting and an uninstall, but still no luck..

its odd, I have Bumptop 1864, and I get this error too. When will the next beta version be out? :(,

I'm having this trouble problem myself.

In my case, I'm working in vmware on a mac. At first I thought that was the problem, but it seems to be happening to others as well, so I'm glad its not just my incompetence.

I've now loaded it twice, from two different downloads, checked all of my system settings, etc, etc, and it still doesn't seem to work. Advice?

UPDATE: When I attempt to initialize bumptop, I get the following:

"The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0150002). Click on OK to terminate the application"

I think that maybe is a problem of video card. I have installed bumptop in another PC and I did not have problem at all, the only difference between both was the video card.
Gforce = Ok! <-> Intel Graphics (onboard) = Problems

I have a nvidia Gforce on my hp pavillon dv8287ea and it doesnt work. I don't think its a problem of video card.

Nope, I downloaded the latest upgrade today and the problem is still the same. Error message, and no "Bump This Folder".

Same here, I thought it had to do with the dual monitor, ( extended shell?).

Its not the dual monitors, i think that it is somehting to do with XP's SP3 -- all of us have had it so.

i had the same problem but from one update to another it disappeared....but i cant remember which it had been....it was a few updates ago... i also installed install.net....

but the point is....now everything works fine, i always use dual monitors...AND i have SP3...

maybe in combination with another thing... cause some dudes here also installed .NET...with no success

Same issue here, too. Vista (just moved over from XP to try to give Vista another go) w/ SP1.

Though the only thing it affects is my settings... Can't change them at all.

Though I've reinstalled, now it says "reinstalling will probably fix this issue" and it probably wont.

so, we're all having the same problem, we load/re-load bumptop btshext.dll cant load and then bumptop says the theme settings bad, is there anything we can do? or do we just have to wait for an update?

Also had this error on Vista SP1. Tried loading manually suggested by wiki. regsvr32 BTShExt.dll. It failed and reports:
