Could not lot BTShExt.dll at location BTShExt.dll
During installation of Bumptop, the following dialog box appears:
LoadLibrary failed
Could not lot BTShExt.dll at location BTShExt.dll.
Installation seems to have succeeded, however.

Inappropriate?Wait for a new update. I had this problem twice, and every time when I update it starts working again.
I’m happy
-
Inappropriate? But actually I got this error in a different situation.
I was trying to delet some random shortcut and bumptop crashed.
Fine.
So, I again Launched Bumptop.
From then onwards, till I restarted my PC, I got this error while clicking the more button anywhere.
I’m happy
-
Can you bump a folder? -
Yes. But takes a hell lot of time.
I think I'll file that as a different bug. -
Inappropriate?I got the same problem during installation. Only difference is mine didn't install successfully.
I’m disappointed.
-
Inappropriate?I had this problem too, and I couldn't get the program to start.
Would really like to try it with my tablet. Maybe finally get rid of the ol' mouse.
I’m slightly annoyed.
-
Note that this problem shouldn't affect the startup of BumpTop, only the shell extension. Can you let us know what's happening when you start BumpTop itself? -
There's an error. I don't know what it is, I uninstalled the beta, just to be sure. I could reinstall if it will help. -
Inappropriate?I also had this problem when installing on laptop. It happened right after installation, when BumpTop launches for the first time, as well as whenever I try to launch BT after that.
-
Inappropriate?Look, this problem happens when you install bumptop, when it launches for the first time, and that problem also means I cannot use Bump This Folder, the button does not appear in my folders.
I've downloaded all versions and updates since then, and the problem is still the same. With all due respect, enough people have complained about it, so if you can't solve the problem or don't think it's worth looking into, at least explain what does it mean or give us something to work with!
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?I'm also seeing this bug. It doesn't affect the desktop bumping but naturally it prevents me from bumping a folder. If I try enable "bump this folder explorer toolbar" then it complains about BtShExt.dll like it did during install.
I'm running XP. Bumptop build 1859.
I’m Used to bugs, doesn't stop bumptop from being AWESOME
-
I have this exact same problem!
I have XP, and the window opened during install. -
Inappropriate?im also getting this problem, it happened on install, but bump top still started, i cant however go into bumptop settings, and it doesnt let me bump things together.. but does have a sense of gravity.. it lets me do some wimple things with groups of files i.e pile them, fan them, grid view and flip book mode. It also lets me hing things on the walls, but i cant actually customise bumptop the way i want to. i tried rebooting and an uninstall, but still no luck..
im running on windows ex
I’m disappointed
-
Inappropriate?Yeah, the same problem. But is the problem cuz of my x32 chipset?
- I did have the x32 sgipset hven I did install BumpTop
I’m not sure.
-
Inappropriate?I have the same problem, but only in Vista ultimate. i have installed it on a XP without any problem
-
Inappropriate?Ditto. Happens on install and then I have no access to settings. Windows XP 32bit.
-
In addition to this problem my invite code does not work....any thoughts about that??? -
Inappropriate?its odd, I have Bumptop 1864, and I get this error too. When will the next beta version be out? :(,
P.S: I am running XP Pro SP2. I have infact access to everything..but Bump! Your Folder.
I’m sad
-
Inappropriate?I'm having this trouble problem myself.
In my case, I'm working in vmware on a mac. At first I thought that was the problem, but it seems to be happening to others as well, so I'm glad its not just my incompetence.
I've now loaded it twice, from two different downloads, checked all of my system settings, etc, etc, and it still doesn't seem to work. Advice?
UPDATE: When I attempt to initialize bumptop, I get the following:
"The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0150002). Click on OK to terminate the application"
I’m just a wee bit frustrated.
-
You has to install .NET. -
Inappropriate?install .NET?
-
Inappropriate?Hi all, the fix for this should be in the upcoming update.
-
Inappropriate?Nice. When's the next update scheduled? I'm anxious to get started using and abusing bumptop. ^_^
-
Inappropriate?Happens on install and then I have no access to settings. I use Windows XP SP2 32bit
-
Inappropriate?I have the same problem on XP SP3 and i see no issue
-
Inappropriate?I think that maybe is a problem of video card. I have installed bumptop in another PC and I did not have problem at all, the only difference between both was the video card.
Gforce = Ok! <-> Intel Graphics (onboard) = Problems -
Doesn't work with my 32bits XP SP2 with Intel 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family either, whereas it does work (and nicely!) on my 32bits XP SP3 with Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTS 320Mb. -
Inappropriate?I have a nvidia Gforce on my hp pavillon dv8287ea and it doesnt work. I don't think its a problem of video card.
-
Inappropriate?I have had this problem with every version that has had the bump this folder button, I am running Windows XP SP3 and everthing else works fine
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate? Now even with this next update this problem has not been sovled or me, -- it is possible that this could be something related to antivirus/ antispyware softwares ???
I’m confused
-
Inappropriate?Nope, I downloaded the latest upgrade today and the problem is still the same. Error message, and no "Bump This Folder".
I’m frustrated
-
Very Frustrated -
Inappropriate?Same here, I thought it had to do with the dual monitor, ( extended shell?).
I can't bump folders either,
XP sp3, Nvidia Geforce 8500GT
I’m sure it will be solved sometime.
-
Inappropriate? Its not the dual monitors, i think that it is somehting to do with XP's SP3 -- all of us have had it so.
I’m anxious
-
Inappropriate?im sorry but i think have to disappoint you!
i had the same problem but from one update to another it disappeared....but i cant remember which it had been....it was a few updates ago... i also installed install.net....
but the point is....now everything works fine, i always use dual monitors...AND i have SP3... -
Inappropriate?Hehe Well thats my theory out the window, maybe it is the .net thing instead then ?
I’m amused
-
Inappropriate?maybe in combination with another thing... cause some dudes here also installed .NET...with no success
-
Inappropriate?I noticed ... it would be great if you could find out for me the number of the update that sorted your problems
I’m unconcerned
-
Inappropriate?Same issue here, too. Vista (just moved over from XP to try to give Vista another go) w/ SP1.
-
Inappropriate?Same very problem.
Though the only thing it affects is my settings... Can't change them at all.
Though I've reinstalled, now it says "reinstalling will probably fix this issue" and it probably wont. -
Inappropriate?so, we're all having the same problem, we load/re-load bumptop btshext.dll cant load and then bumptop says the theme settings bad, is there anything we can do? or do we just have to wait for an update?
I’m annoyed
-
Inappropriate? Also had this error on Vista SP1. Tried loading manually suggested by wiki. regsvr32 BTShExt.dll. It failed and reports:
The module "BTShExt.dll failed to load.
Make sure the binary is stored at the specified path or debug it to check for problems with the binary or dependent .DLL files.
The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log for more detail.
I’m indifferent
-
Just a note: installed on my XP SP3 workstation just great. Just couldn't install on my Vista SP1 one. -
Inappropriate? We have released an updated build that appears to resolve this problem. We will be gradually rolling out this update to all users in the next few days.
Please contact us at feedback@bumptop.com if you want to get this update sooner! =)
