Inappropriate?Hi Ryan,
We're aware of this problem, but the cause is typically related to the video driver. Some more information might help us fix this.
When it crashes, do you see a BumpTop crash report screen? Or is it just the Windows crash window?
Can you follow the instructions on this thread:
http://getsatisfaction.com/bumptop/to...
And email us any DMP files (or other files) about this problem? RAR them up and email us at feedback@bumptop.com so we can take a look. -
Inappropriate?Dear Justin,
I just sent the mail with the information. Hope it is useful to solve the problem. Keep up the good work and support.
Best Regards,
Ryan Kopinsky -
Inappropriate? It might help to mention that i have the 9.4 ATI driver and Bumptop 1.0 build 2850
-
Inappropriate?Ryan,
Are things worse in the Catalyst 9.4 driver than before? -
Inappropriate?yes, before the bumptop was just all black and needed some time to display everything correctly. Now it just crashes. and this happened after I installed the new driver.
-
Inappropriate?I have the same problem, but only since build 2850 !
-
Inappropriate?Lavoisier,
Which Video Driver Do you Have?
I think it's the new build of Bumptop causing the problem or it might be a combination of the new driver and bumptop.
In the older version it had some minor issues but no crashes.
Justin,
I read that you guys are working on a multi touch version; when will it be out?
I have the Hp touchsmart laptop and cannot wait to give that a spin and help you guys with the testing. -
Inappropriate?I've got a Geforce Go6800 (dell laptop)
forceware 179.13 -
Inappropriate?oh ok its probably bumptop then. hope they get it fixed soon :)
-
Inappropriate?I reinstalled the 9.2 ATI driver available on your site and the 2850 build still crashes so that might point out that it is the recent build causing the problem.
If one needs more information, I would be glad to supply that as much as possible. -
Inappropriate?I have observed this on XP Professional 32bit, with an NVIDIA GTX 280 and 182.50 drivers.
I’m sad
-
Inappropriate?Jupix,
Just sign up to be a VIP tester. In that case you would get updates more frequently. If you see that the problem is resolved you can notify bumptop.
I’m happy
-
Inappropriate? Thanks everyone for the information. We're looking through the crash information we're receiving - and we will push out a VIP update when possible to address these crashes. At that point, it'd be nice to hear from everyone to hear if your particular problems are fixed.
-
Inappropriate?Will do
when the update will be released ? -
Hopefully in the next day or so... =) -
Inappropriate?Just for the record, I have the same problem with an ATI Radeon HD 3400 card on Windows Vista. No updates to the video card drivers have been done, and only standard Vista updates have occurred. BumpTop was working just fine until build 2850, and now I'm having the same problem as these other folks - no crash file, and a standard windows dialog that simply says "BumpTop has stopped working".
I then have to restart BumpTop.
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?Hey guys,
We're reasonably certain that this particular problem is not related to video drivers.
We have an update that's being tested now - email us at feedback@bumptop.com, with an email subject of "2850-StandbyCrash" and I'll try to respond with an updated installer in the next few hours. -
Inappropriate?Good day Justin,
Just a question; Why don't you guys make the non-pro bumptop open source so that people can develop it or at least release a software development kit.
A lot of people do not like the interface, initially. But if this application gets out and people get used to it, it might be the future of OS interfaces. The 3d interface and physics engine rock!
Best regards! -
Inappropriate?A VIP release has been made available - build 2859 - which should fix the standby/hibernation issue. If you're a VIP tester, please let us know if it fixes the problem =).

Awesome. =) -
Inappropriate?Right now I am running build 2861 VIP version and the start up from sleep mode was a success. The modification seems to have done the trick. Good Job!!
-
Inappropriate?Got the autoupdate 2859 this morning.
It fixes the wakeup problem !! Great job bumptop team !
looking forward to see some new upgrades ;) -
Inappropriate? The last update fixed my problem, thank you all!

Inappropriate?I would like to report a minor problem. I am running Build 2861 VIP. When my pc wakes up from a long time in sleep mode bumptop starts up flawlessly; however, if it stays in sleepmode for like 5 min, bumptop is dark (i see textures just no detail) and needs some time to refresh. Not a big problem but certainly worth mentioning.
Best Regards!
