Draw/tag organization areas onto the desktop
A plug-in or toolbox that will allow you to draw on the desktop and add text labels. This way you could easily create dynamic visual organization without having to edit the individual wall/floor files in a paint programs. For instance, the ability to either spotlight or draw on the "floor" a box or circle and label it "Project" and then you throw all your files related to the project in the circle. That way organization schemes could easily be updated or erased as your workflow changes.

Inappropriate?I like this idea. I would make a corkboard type thing with it on the wall where I would put all my recent files.

Inappropriate? This is a fantastic idea, think about it, draw a little shape on the desk for something you need grouped together but not in it's own folder, say, items that only need to be on the desktop temporarily, so the piles aren't visually hiding the items, but they aren't all shoved in a corner either, and then enable a -minor- snap-to feature that sucks in items thrown directly at it, like if it was a whirlpool and you had just tossed in a toy boat, but there's no exact center that everything goes to. Excellent idea!!!

Inappropriate?Bumptop is all about organisation and this idea would really make that organisation so much more effective.
I’m Hopeful

Inappropriate?I'm always working on a few projects at the same time and Bumptop has helped me unclutter my old desktop in a way i couldn't even suspect. What i'm doing is posting pictures to the walls pertaining to those projects and then piling the different icons in front of them.
But if there was a way to block an image from bumping and keeping it behind all other icons, it could work as a multi-wallpaper desktop. An you could then pile your icons directly on top of that surface.
Better in my opinion than the multiple-desktop being discussed, since after tiding up you're left with so much free space, there's really no need for a second desktop, let alone 10 of them. All you really need is a way to define certain areas and, in a way, give them each it's own easily recognizable theme.
I’m hoping this gets considered soon by the company!
