How about, nobody complains about Windows 7 compatibility issues? :)
There seems to be a lot of people complaining about issues with Bumptop when using the Windows 7 Beta... I am just going to reiterate one of my earlier posts...
"I've just switched to Windows 7 x64 from Windows Vista x64 and I haven't even thought about installing Bumptop, purely for the fact that Windows 7 is still in beta...
My advice would be, don't complain about compatibility issues on something that hasn't even been officially released yet. How do you expect the developers of Bumptop to support Windows 7 already?
It might be helpful for them to know that there are compatibility issues there, but I wouldn't expect a fix any time soon. At least not until Windows 7 has been released officially and had time to settle in.
If it really bothers you, I suggest you go back to Windows Vista x64."

Inappropriate?Good point. Essentially, installing bumptop on Windows 7 is using beta software on beta software. Complex, on impossibly complex. And both not stable.
-
Inappropriate?how about bumptop is designed for windows 7 and its touch capabilities so they probably have an incentive to get it working...
-
Inappropriate? You're missing the point of feedback. Giving our feedback to Bumptop about Windows 7 , even now, in beta stage, is very valuable and useful, when it gets into production. Don't forget RC is coming soon.
So how about we all give our feedback, and try to make this even a better product.

Inappropriate? When I posted this thread Windows 7 had only just been released in beta. Not only that, but I was referring to people who were NOT giving feedback, they were just moaning about things not working in Windows 7... An operating system that had ONLY JUST been released in beta...
I still don't think it's worth giving the developers feedback on Windows 7. Not until the first official release candidate anyway.

Inappropriate?Well, I think feedback would be nice. Vista and Windows 7 are not that much different, and a beta is meant for future development, thats why it has been open to download for developers and users to test.
They kindof cleaned up a lot in win 7, something that should have done before in Vista.
The way it uses drivers is the same though. You can even install vista drivers in windows 7.
I only experienced some problems with OpenGL. I can imagine people would be unable to resolve the problem, and easily target 'Windows 7' as the problem.
So I guess some kind of guide is needed for people, in order to find and resolve the problem (or be able to give feedback) in addition to the FAQ and driver page.

Inappropriate?Yes I know, I used Windows 7 for a while. But my point is, the Bumptop developers probably don't have a development machine running Windows 7 because it isn't out of beta yet.
You have to understand, Bumptop is also in beta. It is an extremely bad idea to even attempt to deploy beta software onto a beta OS. You even answered your own question by saying people would blame Windows 7 as the problem. The sad fact is, it probably would be Windows 7. Why? Because the Bumptop developers don't know what core OS features have been changed in Windows 7, and so they are not programming for them.
Microsoft have claimed that Windows 7 will be fully compatible with the majority of software developed for Vista. So why not just concentrate on the operating system we have? Not one that is subject to major change since it is in such an early stage of development.
