icon for external drives

It may not be a problem with bumptop, but I do not know how to fix it. I encourage any and all help. Everytime I connect an external drive bumptop create an icon on my desktop, that I cannot get rid of exept to disconnect the drive. A right click on the icon gets the familiar grow, shrink, more, expand choices. If I Click more....it reveals Rename, filename toggle, change icon, but no delete. Is there a way to get rid of it without disconnecting, and keep it from doing it anymore?
