Multi-monitor Support
Is there support for multiple monitors? I have two, and would like to know how BumpTop works across them.

I have dual monitors, at slight angles to each other. It would be very cool to be able to alter the display angles of each instance independently, so that the two instances would appear semi-3d. I'll stick an image in to explain what I mean.

Obviously it wouldn't track with your head or anything, so it would look flat, but people might prefer it to the top down view on both screens.
PS: This isn't my setup, its just a random image off the net I've doctored
I’m unconcerned

Inappropriate?Great idea. I run 2 monitors, and everyone I work with runs 2 monitors. If this was supported, I think alot for people would get online.
-
Inappropriate? That's a good idea, but how would it work? Two bumptops or an extended bumptop? (which in this case, both could use up the CPU)
-
Inappropriate?I think the extended would be better.
This way it can support multiple monitors.
Has someone already tried it by extending Windows desktop to 2 monitors and run BumpTop?
An image how it looks like would be great.
To solve the problem for Windows seeing the second monitor as an external instead of extended, there can be build a check in BumbTop to see if Windows has extended its desktop. -
Inappropriate?yes, i have my Windows desktop extended to both monitors (have one image across both, for instance). i'm not using two separate desktops; i only have one that is as large as my entire dual-monitor real estate.
my thought is that expanding BumpTop to the full real estate (making it wider than it is tall, as it were) is the most logical solution; haivng two BumpTops might confuse things.
I’m glad it's in the works

Inappropriate?I agree with MerlBump -- make it one bumptop across the two monitors.
However, having a bumptop per monitor would be cool. It would be like having virtual workspaces across the monitors, and I know that some people would love that feature too. -
Inappropriate? Can we choose which monitor to display on?
I have three and don't want it to appear on the primary monitor. -
Inappropriate?I also work with 2 monitors and would find it useful to EITHER: extend BumpTop to the 2nd monitor OR to create a 2nd BumpTop on the 2nd monitor.
-
Inappropriate?I use two monitors, and split the desktop, but would like to be able to either move the BumpTop to either one, or extend it across both.
-
Inappropriate?I've got 3 monitors, and would love to choose between individual instances of BumpTop on each monitor or a single one that spans all monitors

Having it do that in particular would be very powerful feature, I would love to see that... *wants* xD -
That'd be awesomme, One also needs to think about the people that would want to have several instances of bumptop across multiple monitors, or one instance at a second or third monitor... -
Inappropriate? The other issue is going from 2 monitors to a single monitor. I'm a field tech and use 2 monitors in the office (laptop and and LCD) and just the Laptop on site.
-
Inappropriate?Maybe a function that looks to the monitor usage.
If you press Fn+F5 you get a menu to select how to use the monitors.
Maybe that setting is written in the registry?

Inappropriate?I think an ideal version would be to let it make the same choices your graphics card has. extended, stretched or double.
Seeing the fact it gathers all the shortcuts from both monitors on one bumptop, it uses the system desktop contents. I think it would need to work with information from your graphics card, as well as from the desktop on your system.
Two instances now might just get you a doubling up of all you do. -
Inappropriate? It would be cool if I had 3 monitors for example and I could span across 2 monitors and have a 2nd BumpTop on the 3rd monitor. Total control.
I’m excited

Inappropriate?Please add this functionality!!
-
Inappropriate? And please make it possible to use two monitors using different resolutions, mine are 1200*1600 and 1600*1200
-
Can you describe your setup?
Thanks -
Inappropriate?I also use a large 2nd monitor off of my laptop; using Bumptop on my larger screen. As I have used the increased space of Bumptop, my laptop monitor has become overrun with Icons, and is a real mess. Since there is no multi-monitor support today, I am wondering how hard it would be to create a setting that would let me point bumptop to a Folder which would act as the repository for all bumptop files. This would let me really use bumptop to it's fullest potential without completely polluting my laptop's windows desktop.

Inappropriate?Refresh: it has been 5 months and no updates?
I have three monitors. I am a web developer and I have dozens of icons on my desktop for quick access.
I would like to see an option to 'bend' a full width desktop.
Using 1 or 2 lines that are 2 px wide, allow the end user to identify the edges of the screens as they are laid out and then adjust the view angle of the screen on each side of the 'bend'
That way I can keep the desktop matching my monitor alignment. (aprox 20 degrees on the left and right)
I’m indifferent

Inappropriate?I am using a laptop.
when out of the office, it's the only screen.
when i am in the office, i am using preconfigured preset to change the setting to use my 2nd monitor also (Extended).
The other issue is that the 2nd screen is turned 90deg.
