Inappropriate?Hi there,
Can we get the DMP files from this?
It would be great if you could follow the instructions on this thread:
http://getsatisfaction.com/bumptop/to...
and email us the dump files at feedback@bumptop.com -
Inappropriate? Can you edit your settings.json in Notepad, and look for a variable called visuals. Set that value to 3 instead of 2 and run BumpTop again to see if that helps with the crash?
The settings.json file is located here:
On WindowsXP - C:\Documents and Settings\(name)\Application Data\Bump Technologies, Inc\BumpTop\
On Windows Vista - C:\Users\(name)\AppData\Roaming\Bump Technologies, Inc\BumpTop\
These folders may be hidden.
Let me know how it goes. -
this did not work and fackbook is now black -
Inappropriate? With Visuals = 3 i can see the icons not showing previously and twitter/facebook/images/etc.. on the wall too.
The startup error saying "Windows - disk not present" Exception Procession Message c0000013, and the TexHelper crash are still there.
TexHelper crashes even when I "expand" a folder, maybe it's something "tumbnails-related".
I can see the red X ! :) but not icons inside the pile (texhelper crash) :P
Thanks for the hint, anyway.
I’m better than before

Hi Gnafu,
We have a build that includes a fix in one of our third party libraries that might have caused this problem, we'll send it to you shortly once we confirm that it works.
Thanks,
Winson -

Inappropriate?I am having the same problem. Any ideas on what the cause might be? I would like to get the pro version but it does no good if I can't run without errors.
Thank!
I’m sad

Inappropriate?I updated to the newest version hoping that it might help but now things are worse. I still get the same texhelper error and now my icons become transparent shadows when I create stacks.
I’m really sad now
-
Inappropriate?@Winson: were you talking about the 2738 version from the website?
I got that and the beta code doesn't work any more.
Now I have the free-version limitation. (And problems still there)
But now I have one more error coming up (just today, even before the update)
It's a "disc not found" like the other one, but now it's from "Bumptop" instead from "Windows"
I think these errors can be caused by the link I have on my desktop, pointing to Floppy CD, and DVD drives.
Maybe bumptop is trying to read them to create a preview?
I’m sad
-
Inappropriate? We have an update that will be released in the next few hours that will address this issue. Thanks for your patience!
-
Inappropriate? Is anyone still experiencing this problem? We are looking for users who are experiencing this crash to try an update before we make it publically available. Please email feedback@bumptop.com if you are running Windows XP and are experiencing these crashes with TexHelper.
-
Inappropriate?I updated to version 2820 and crashes are still there, but now the expanding folders (with few elements) are shown correctly. Before, they were all black icons.
-
Inappropriate?Hi Gnafu,
We have a new build (newer than 2820) that has a Texhelper crash fix. Did you get an email from us directly? We'd like to send you the update so you can confirm that the problem is fixed on your machine. -
Inappropriate?Email us at feedback@bumptop.com with the subject "TexHelper crash", and a link to this thread/some text explaining the situation.
Either Winson or I will respond with a link to download a patch - and let us know via email (or here, if you want) if the patch worked. -
Inappropriate?Winson sent me a download link for the patched version. I completely uninstalled the last version and installed the new patched one. I have the same problem but now it seems to be worse. The error pops up every couple of seconds now instead of every 10 seconds or so in the previous version.
I already forwarded a copy of this message to Winson but thought I would update the thread as well.
-
Inappropriate? Thanks for your help szorn. Winson and I took a look at things earlier, but we need more dump files, still, from people who are experiencing this problem.
If you could, follow the instructions here: http://getsatisfaction.com/bumptop/to...
and send us any Dr. Watson crash files you're able to generate - RAR them up and email to feedback@bumptop.com so we can take a look and get the bug fixed. -
Inappropriate?THANKS!!!!
The version you sent me does not crash any more TexHelper!
What i did:
- Uninstall
- Remove bumptop directories from "program files" and "application data" (it leaves some junk :P)
- Install the new version
- Done, no crash.
I haven't changed the settings.json this time, so Visuals is set to 2
Icons are showing good.
I have another trouble now, but I will open a new post.
After closing and restarting bumptop, I have a windows error I described before. It seems like it is trying to access the floppy drive -.-
Thanks again!!
I’m happy
-
Do you have a shortcut to a floppy drive on your desktop?
BumpTop scans all shortcuts on the desktop at start up - which has proven to be problematic behaviour. We hope to change this in the future to avoid this type of problem. -
Inappropriate?Yes, I have a shortcut for every drive, and if i use the dvd drive and remove the dvd before starting bumptop, then it gives me 2 errors: 1 for the floppy and 1 for the dvd. :D
-
Inappropriate?Sorry for bumping this old thread but I wish to know if I can update bumptop to new versions.
I still have an old (vip?) version you mailed me to fix my problem.
Thanks in advance
I’m thankful
