upgrade, huh?
After this week's upgrade all of my piles are gone. No icons show up once, I pile by type.

Inappropriate?Hi Ed,
If you hit F1 in BumpTop, which build number does it say you're running?
Just need a bit more information to see what's happened. -
Inappropriate?even wierder today. after I resumed from suspend, I couldn't read the text. So, I restarted bump top. Only one of my icons showing up, my computer. I have like 50 files. Where did they go.
I’m ready to go back to MS desktop

Inappropriate?Hi Ed,
Unfortunately, the 3018 installer had some issues -- can you try and upgrade to the latest version (3038) at:
http://download.bumptop.com/BumpTopIn...
You may have to reset the scene layout from the BumpTop settings as well.

I had the same problem as Ed. Installing v3038 from the above link seems to have fixed it. -
Inappropriate?Just tried to reinstall. The piles are still showing up as shadows. The icons can't be seen. Only the file names.
I’m wondering what the hell happened.

Hi Ed,
Can you go into your user data folder and remove the Cache directory?
You can find the directory in one of the following folders (substitute "user" with your Windows user name)
Vista: c:\Users\(user)\AppData\Roaming\Bump Technologies, Inc\BumpTop
XP: c:\Users\(user)\Local Settings\Application Data\Bump Technologies, Inc\BumpTop -
Inappropriate? What's your video card model? Can you post your video card dxdiag info here? The dxdiag info is here: C: Program Files/bumptop/dxdiag.
I’m happy to help
-
Nix what I said, the dxdiag info is in C: Documents & Settings/username/Bump Technologies, Inc/bumptop/dxdiag. (username is your computer username.) (The file you want is dxdiag.) -
Inappropriate?dxdiag.exe is included with Windows and is present in your path. So if you go into your Start menu, Run, and type dxdiag, you can then click "Save All Information" and open the resultant text file in Notepad. This file will contain information about your video card and drivers that can be used to diagnose problems with OpenGL and BumpTop.

Inappropriate?Intel integrated graphics users: OpenGL 2.0 support is available since Vista v15.11 drivers and XP v14.36 drivers, so anything newer should work.
Are you running XP or Vista? -
Inappropriate? Also: The video drivers won't cause you to lose your piles...
Just to confirm: You started BumpTop one day and your icon locations were reset and your BumpTop desktop layout was lost? -
Inappropriate? The lost piles happened after the upgrade and one other time randomly.
The pixelation has always happened.
I'm running XP Pro
I use driver detective and it says that this is the latest driver for my video card.
I’m still hoping.
-
Pixelation is related to your graphics card, or due to some graphics library that is installed that conflicts with BumpTop. We haven't identified the causes of these, yet.
The losing of piles should not happen - and this is due to a bug in BumpTop. We'll be adding more detection in the future to help fix these problems.
