What are the 3 most annoying things about BumpTop?
Hey,
We're always listening closely to your feedback. We feed off all the love, praise and free tattoo offers. And we strive to fix the things that make the experience painful.
That's why we wanna know. What are the 3 most annoying things about using BumpTop?

Inappropriate?1. the more option, right click.. left click more.. left click cut etc.
2. the glitchiness you get sometimes when youre dragging icons about or when they get stuck in the corner.
3. the infinite bumptop thing, i think id prefer a flat finite bumptop, or maybe if it scrolled instead of zooming out .
-
What's your prob with the More option menu? If you Ctrl+Right-click you instantly get the windows right-click menu -
thats such a developer thing to say! so, i have to move my left hand!? to press ctrl..there must be an easier way?! :P -
I agree with angry.. but I already said my suggestion in a related topic.. -
I'd agree in the respect that if I wanted to ctrl+click something... I'd own a mac... -
I'd agree in the respect that if I wanted to ctrl+click something... I'd own a mac... -
Inappropriate?1) the "COMCTL32.dll." error that keeps showing up whenever i try to click more on the desktop (icons are fine)
2) No video/windows able to be used from the desktop
3) And where is my crumple/fold. i want these back!!!!!
-
Oh yes, the crumple and fold please. -
too bad to miss it , i need the crumple and fold option please
and a big trash can with lid :) -
Same as sanjiz -
Inappropriate?1) The "more" option, should be multimedia style like the others.
2) The lack of gadgets designed specially for bumptop, I like gadgets.
3) Does not have the possibility of rotating the vision of the desk, to handle the luminosity of the atmosphere either. -
The "more" option should do a similar thing to the "more" option in secondlife's circular menu, it changes the contents of the circ. menu until th user has seen all options, on the last set, "more" changes to "main", which jumps to part 1 of the menu -
Inappropriate?1) What adz said about the COMCTL32.dll issue...
2) What Psimosis said about the rotating viewpoint of the desktop
3) No other OS support... but I can wait.
Also, angry, the "infinite" BumpTop isn't THAT infinite...
I’m bored
-
excuse me so much, sorry for boring you. -
Did I say that you were the cause of my boredom? No. Don't assume that I am making some kind of indirect threat or whatever.
I was just saying that I feel that the infinite view isn't that big. Personal view. You do pose a worthy addon: a scrolling mode for the "infinite" view.
Although a scrolling mode for the "infinite" view would be nice, I believe the team went with the appropriate choice with the auto-zoom. In this way, forgetful people such as myself won't forget that there may be other icons hiding around because we cannot see them when/if in scrolling mode.
Once again, it wouldn't be such a bad idea if they implement your scrolling mode in a later revision.
Seriously, I was bored because I was waiting in line for something and I had already visited most of the sites I frequent. I feel that I should rectify this issue, that you feel that I have accused you for my past boredom, and to say that I am sorry but my intention of me posting that "I'm bored" was just stating my current state and had no influence from you. -
apologies, i have many "english as a second language" online friends, and i should know better (because they offend me all the time). your english is so good that i forgot myself, and read something that wasnt there. (i am an idiot). -
Yeah, I see where you're coming from.
And it's really not an issue so long as you're OK.
Quite frankly, I saw it as my fault...
Now... Gotta focus on doing some relatively minor Java... -
Inappropriate? How about no support for dual monitors. That would be nice.
-
fuck no, bitch. Mista. T say, NO -
Inappropriate?1. Icons slipping
2. No crumple/peel (These would be my absolute favorite features if I had them. :\
3. Not being able to drop windows onto the desktop.
If you were to fix these, I'd definitely want Crumple, then icon slipping fixed afterward. It's frustrating sometimes when such an intuitive and useful interface doesn't mimic one of the key elements of my desk. The windows in Bumptop (App windows, I mean) would be at the bottom of my list of things I want to see.
I love Bumptop, just wish you'd bring crumple back. -
Crumple and Peel would be awesome to have back. -
Inappropriate?Actually, I remove the slipping icons from my list:
#1 Annoyance: No Crumple - I can't crumple up an unneeded icon and toss it in the corner because I will need it later, but not at the moment.
#2 Annoyance: Sticky Notes - The font and layout of the text is constantly going off the sticky note, and the limited square shape is causing the text to be hyphenated, and makes it impossible to read my note because the text is too large and doesnt fit on the icon.
#3 Annoyance: Windows (As described in my last post) -
#2, agreed! -
#2 Yes the Sticky notes need some tender loving care. -
Inappropriate?1) The way that the Grid view jumps when you launch an app while it is touching the walls. Better edge detection would fix this though. and if that is the issue. make the grid view's density not dependent on size. this way it has no trouble moving it's self away from the wall.
2) When the desktop is not in focus and you try to double click an application on Bumptop. The icon zooms across the screen and may/may-not launch.
3) I would like to see more options for the widgets.
4) Bumptop NEED's video support. -
Inappropriate?1. Icons on the wall dropping slightly after being clicked.
2. Names for all icons shortening and ending in "..." after enlarging certain icons.
3. Setting your windows desktop to be the floor doesn't always work, and sometimes needs to be set back and forth a few times before it will display, and sometimes needs to be on the opposite setting to get the desired effect. -
Inappropriate?1. Icon physics
The physics of the icons should feel more real, like I posted here:
http://getsatisfaction.com/bumptop/to...
2. Icon transparency problem
Get rid of the icon transparency problem. I posted a suggestion here:
http://getsatisfaction.com/bumptop/to...
3. Gadgets/Widgets
I'd really like to see gadget support, like pinning the Vista gadgets on my BumpTop walls.
I’m thankful
-
Inappropriate? The first and most annoying thing is the glitchiness when dragging icons.
The second one is the non-video support.
The third is the glitchiness and the non-video support combined.
Im using XP SP2 and dont have the "COMCTL32.dll" problem.
I’m happy
-
When I keep seeing people say "video support" on this forum, what exactly are they referring to? -
I think they mean, just like the pictures you can have on walls, being able to have movies playing on walls. That's what I understand, yes? -
Huh... really? That seems like a pointless waste of resources. -
That seems like a perfectly good way of watching gootube movies and/or documentaries -
This comment was removed on 11/24/08.
see the change log -
Inappropriate?1.Icons looks flat. Let`s make them more real, more three-dimensional. Now they looks like small thin piece of paper.
2. Impossibility to make custom viewpoint
3. !!! Impossibility to Drop windows on desktop and piling them on the walls
Please return this ability, like in your presentation video! -
They should add a feature similar to madotate 3D -
Inappropriate?1. Speed / fluidity of the UI in general
2. The fact that my essential right click menu has been deemed less important than bumptop's menu. ctrl+right click isn't good enough - that's one of the reasons why I don't have a Mac.
3. The way the gestural menus are made less intuitive by making them so different based on context. (up = sticky note, grid, expand to pile, create pile..)
It must be totally fluid to be better than windows/osx. I only use infinite desktop, not keen on the 'walls' yet. -
Inappropriate?1. Perfomance is not the best one (
2. You have to click on a pile to flip it
3. I would like to see an integrated folder browser that will be just like a desk but show the disks, folders, etc (not like Bump! This Folder) but fully integrated into BumpTop... -
Inappropriate?1. Widget support / more widgets
2. Crumble and fold icons
3. system icons like Recycle Bin, my Computer, etc... and working
I’m silly
-
Inappropriate?1. All icons are not shown properly due to multilanguage setting (Bin, my docs, my comp...).
2. Piles are not sticking to the walls when you restart BumpTop.
3. Impossibility to change the icon of things like "Internet Explorer"... -
how about adding shelves under pinned files! :) -
Inappropriate?1. widgets
2. recicle bin, my computer, etc...
3. impossibility to Drop windows on desktop and piling them on the walls
Please return this ability, like in your presentation video! -
Inappropriate?1: I'd really like crumble/fold.
2: Video support is one of the things I'
d love to see
3: That I'd have a way of installing Bumptop at my gaming-computer at home(no interblag)
I’m hopefull
-
Inappropriate?1st: I'm in vista 64, and I dont have any recycle bin... very boring.
2nd: I have a lot of screen flash, when I start an application, when I click on the desktop, and when i'm uning the "bumptop revealed" option (by double clicking on the edge) I have a flash of my windows desktop (using another wallpaper), so it's not very hot...
3rd: Icon are never at the same place after rebooting. sometime those who are pined up on the edge change size and are now anywhere else, sometime I "lost" them behind the edge, so I need to pass in infinite bumptop mode to go get them. Not very useful.
P.S. I'm a french beta-user, so ask me question if you don't understand... I do my best to write in english! A french forum could be very nice!
Either, Thanks a lot to all the bumptop team, this is really nice and I love this kind of desktop! You're the best! -
Just a thought; do you have the recycle bin enabled in windows desktop properties? -
Inappropriate?1. Files downloaded through a download manager don't appear until bumptop restarts (annoying because defaults are set to go through it, and so I either need to switch how each file is downloaded or restart bumptop after each download).
2. Can't name piles without making new folders (This would be fine except that if I throw something into a pile Vista asks if I'm sure I want to move it, which breaks the fluidity of the interface).
3. Inability to emphasize specific items within a pile (eg. pulling one file partway out of a neat pile in the presentation vid). -
Just to let you know, there's a scroll option for piles. It flips through the icons in a pile and emphasizes them and you push enter when you get to the one you want.
Hope that helps -
Sorry, just re-read your comment. You want to emphasize individual things in a pile by offsetting them or something, yes? -
Yeah, that's the idea. As far as I recall from the presentation vid one could offset something in a neat pile (pull it out like, 1/4 of the way), which yields the user pretty much instant information. -
The prototype video was 'pushing the limits' and they're trying to enhance stability from what I'm seeing at the moment. It's a slow process, but I'm sure they'll get to those things eventually. ;) -
Awesome, as long as it's still on the drawing board. =) -

Inappropriate?1- why it keeps telling me my laptop doesn't have opengl when it does.
2- when I have a picture frame just in the middle and create a new one, or have the send email applet disabled, a picture frame on its place then enable the mail applet, the picture frame jumps away and dissapears. don't even know if it was deleted or it's hidden.
3- not being able to set the rotation/tilt of the room manually (ie. more visible wall to hang pictures on)
I’m weird
-
You know you can zoom in on walls, right? Just double click on any wall and you can place icons wherever. As for the tilt of the camera in and of itself, i agree at some point it would be nice to change it manually in the Settings dialogue. -
yeah, I know, but I would like a more tilted default view, without needing to zoom on walls... -
Inappropriate?1. The fact that I can't customize the background of infinite bumptop. Or if I can, it's not working. The grey hurts my eyes.
2. That I can't run my regular widgits on my desktop anymore. I had a small resource tracking bar that went across my screen but it'll just blink over the bumptop overlay (like it does with videogames) if I don't turn it off.
3. Kind of sluggish for me. It's probably a RAM thing. 1gb is so 2006 and it's annoying whenever you're reminded of the fact. -
Bumptop uses about 72,724 K on my system, dunno about yours, but it's also probably your processor, try changing your Maximum Images Texture Square to less than what it's at under the Visuals tab, I think that should free some video memory, unchecking Vsync and anti-aliasing would probably result in a speed increase as well. Bumptop runs slow now and then on my own laptop, its just usually when the program has been idle for a long time, or the computer gets busy. Your widgets probably wont work at the moment because Bumptop graphics are probably displayed exactly like the ones in video games, the blinking is due to the two apps 'battling' per se, for the top-level status. Make sure you send feedback@bumptop.com info about it, too. I have the same problem with system tray tooltips. x.=.x
As for the Infinite Bumptop background, I'm pretty sure it can be altered in theme.json in your current theme's directory in C:\Program Files\Bumptop\Themes or something to that extent. -
Inappropriate?1 - I hate it when you throw a file or folder in a corner and the recycle bin is sitting there and it it somehow links to the trash, turn that crap off.

2 - Icons don't show up
3 - Rotate the view
4 - Rotate the files
I’m mad at these things...
-
I stuck mine up in the back right corner and it doesnt happen too often. -
ADD, an option to turn that (sometimes useful for spring cleaning) "crap" off -
Inappropriate?
- The terrible looking piles due to the borders on icons.
- The icons are not customizable. I think that there should be customizable icons for all items on the BumpTop, as well as filetypes. A lot of programs and Windows icons are not high-res enough to look decent on BumpTop, so it would be great to use one's own icons.
- The StickyNote often has problems with words going over the edge of the note itself, even if a word is shorter than the note itself. It seems the threshold for a line of text includes the glow when the Note is selected.
-
2) You can change icons, right-click, more, change icon. I use custom icons for almost everything. -
Inappropriate?I keep resizing icons by missclicking after lasso selection. It's kind a driving me crazy. To resize an incon, i use only Ctrl + MouseWheel, the menu options seems just like a mess to me.
I'd also like to have a button to set same size to all icons in the pile/selection. -
Selecting the pile and changing the size will change all icons at once. What I also do is simply make it as small as possible, and keep pressing the 'Shrink' button/hotkey until all icons are the same size, then just enlarge to desired size. The mouse wheel would have the same effect, i think, just make it all tiny and then grow to the desired size. ;) -
thanks, i know about this and i use it often, but i guess it's a really complicated way of solving it -
I know what you mean, but that's what we're here for, to make it better, right? ;) You might create a CrowdSound topic so users can vote on more interface functions, too, such as the 'Same Size' button, lol. -
Its Shift -Ctrl + mouse wheel to change the Icon size for all who do not know. -
Inappropriate?1. No Undo feature for icon location or saved positions so if you accidentally make a mess out of the icons you have to manually fix it.
2. Icons stuck in piles.
3. No widgets -
Inappropriate?1 - more seemly intigration with the desktop and file explorer.
- Drag and drop files from file explorer to the bumptop
2 - VNC does not show the bumped icons and movments - icons just disappear when bumped or are unusable at all (even at lan speeds)
3 - Multi Monitor & Multi BumpTop rooms/boxes -
Inappropriate?1. Even with the "grow frequently used files", files still tend to grow when opened. See this post:
http://getsatisfaction.com/bumptop/to...
2. Multiple "room" functionality, like this:
http://getsatisfaction.com/bumptop/to...
Or all those other idea's.
3. Those "widgets" everyone is talking about :) BumpTop needs them.
I’m happy
-
Inappropriate?Slows down boot time :(
Pictures in picture frame tent to move without me touching them (it is haunted ore something) -
do your pic frames only move when they load another image? cause thats a feature not a bug :P -
Inappropriate?Enable WindowsBlinds 6 support. the edges of my windows disappear whenever I have Bumptop running, it's very annoying.
Quicker to load menus: Any time I right click the pie menu takes a while to show up completely.
I emphasize the WindowBlinds 6 compatibility, I not only use it for style but for functionality, the particular theme I am using allows me to have a slightly larger taskbar without looking weird like Windows normally does with doubled taskbar, and my window edges are always disappearing whenever bumptop is going.
I also use RocketDock, and that's always disappearing whenever i try to open it over bumptop, it's docked to the right side of my screen.
All these things get flickery, so it'd be nice if bumptop didn't do that. -
Inappropriate?1. Sticky Notes. Default is too small, One grow up is too big. How about allowing me to drag the corner to make it bigger. Any Icon for that matter.
2. No lock down function to keep icons straight and in the right place. Double clicking wall items and they drop a little.
3. More Themes functions. The extension overrides don't work besides MS office AND they only work sometimes.
I’m amused
-
Inappropriate?1. Becomes unresponsive while I'm streaming video (this is probably due to the processor being unavailable, so I'm not sure how much can be done about that).
2. Locking things down or somehow embedding them in place would be nice.
3. If I start-up my computer without internet access, my picture frames are empty.
I’m satisfied.
-
Inappropriate?I use SeriousSamurize and it flickers constantly when docked on the right (not compatible as well). Luckily ObjectDock works fine and appears to be compatible.
-
Inappropriate?1.) right-click menu isn't integrated into the OS (2 r-click menus!)
2.) strange icon physics (ice-like floor and icons sliding down from the wall)
3.) problems with overlay with other apps (which have transparency or are allways-on-top) -
Any suggestions for how to do the right-click menu? Its a tough one as we have other func we need to expose on top of the right-click. -
I might suggest using the mouse-wheel button, or maybe left-hold-then-right click. -
well, doesn't the normal win r-click menu allready have some of bumptop option embeded, like filename toggle, rename etc...? why not put grow/shrink alongside with these and let go of the default bumtop's menu altogether; just have the default shell's menu. -
I see what you went through thinking about this AnAnd... The Keyboard combo for the right menu or Ctr-LMB works well for for me. -
Inappropriate?1) A 'lock' command that will lock your icon in place. So you don't acidentally drop your icons off the wall.
2) When you open a large stack into a grid near a wall it sometimes pushes other icons around as it adjusts to the wall boundries.
3) Faster load for folders you have bumbtoped. I have plenty of hardive space, maybe and extra file that stores the data from the last time it was opened. -
re: 2, it pushes icons on your desktop away? or just other stuff thats piled? -
For me, it shifts any items that are on the wall next to the expanded pile. -
Yes it does push other near by icons away as the grid window grows. It sometimes causes the collision physics to shoot the icon upwards from being covered by the grid window. -
Inappropriate? There are many things I can see that would improve the program greatly, as stated by most of the replies here.
I Still think it a fine program the way it stands.
What does tend to aggrivate me more often than not, is the redirection of the files upon upgrade/install.
I run BumpTop from an alternate drive (With no problems), though the installer still insists on cluttering up my C:\ drive, leaving just a bit of extra work rearranging everything.
All-in-all ..exelant work folks :) -
What clutter are you seeing on the c:\? -
What clutter are you seeing on the c:\? -
Inappropriate?well during my Bumtop Desklife this annoying things I always experience...
- slow loading up
- during transfer of mulitple files bumptop Cpu usage goes 89-95 percent
- same image name reflects image content ( when you and image name is IMg.jpg that you transfer before to desktop for viewing, after viewing i delete the image and emptied my recycle bin. When the same image name were transferred to bump desk same content will be viewed where infact its already deleted -
Inappropriate?1. the fact that when you connect a external hard drive you cant get rid of the icon on the desktop (i end up hiding it on a wall)
2. i think the walls need to be higher and have a roof because i dont like staring into the empty space above
3. there needs to be a free-cam + the usual more gadgets like crumple/fold and shelf building etc
4. maby easier use of the recycle bin like a furnace door or just a door that you drag it to and it empties ? and sometimes when i throw files around they end up almost going into the recycle bin which is slightely annoying -
1. you can. just select it and hit delete!
2,3. agreed, its on our big list -
Yes When looking at the front wall directly - The whole top half of the screen is empty the wall is to short. The Front view mode would be much more usable if the wall took up the whole screen. Make the perspective of the Front wall the same as the floor. This is almost like giving us a second Bumptop Desktop to work with. -
Inappropriate?"1. you can. just select it and hit delete!"
just press the delete key? ok :) -
Inappropriate?(From what I can tell...) Things on your desktop don't act enough like shortcuts for me ... 90% of the files I use are on my external hard drive, and for me to have icons of them on my bumptop it keeps trying to copy them to my C drive for some reason ... maybe there's a way and I can't find it, but in that case it should be easier to do than it currently is.
EDIT: Also, I'd like a resource monitor widget/app thing. I usually use rainmeter, but having one incorporated in bumptop would make life easier.
EDIT II: A "straighten" option for things hanging on the wall ... I have several picture frames cycling through my pictures folder, and somehow they end up crooked after 5 minutes and my OCD makes me spend 30 seconds fixing it every time ...
-
Hey, happens the same to me about the tilted icons xD this is like a therapy to overcome my fussiness cus frankly I'm too sluggish to keep straighten them all the time q: -
Inappropriate?1. the icon's position cannot be locked.
2. Picture file that I have pinned up on the wall became very blurry/ low-res after my computer was restarted. I do not have such problem with the photo frame.
3. The pile's aesthetics can be further improved.
-
Inappropriate?1 - Borders on Icons need work
2 - Infinite desktop mode should be locked down and zoom in and out with the Mouse scroll wheel. Its
3 - Better support for Widgets or a system that is better than the Install and Pray method that is now implemented. Plug-ins are going to be huge I just want to see a more reliable install method used. -
Inappropriate?Cannot Pin Icons to the desktop
-
Inappropriate?1. Occupies more than 70MB Ram, poorly optimized.
2. No special effects (like ripple), video slideshows, youtube, rss etc
3. No native 64bit support
4 Not worth the money, needs more work. -
Educate me what 64bit support do for you? -
Chris, you do know what 64bit means? This program runs in 32bit emulation (WOW64) mode- which means it creates a virtual 32bit addressing wrapper, this translation adds additional CPU overhead and supports upto maximum of 2 GB of Ram, the plugins and widgets have to be made to run 32bit mode. So this power hungry program requires more optimization- like large addressing space, clever thread scheduling and more features. -
Inappropriate?1. The Photoframes consume considerable resources even when BumpTop is hidden behind an application that is running in fullscreen mode.
2. BumpTop takes almost as long to start than it takes Windows to start (from POST to desktop).
3. I can interact beautifully with pictures, but I can't do the same with music.
(4. The obvious one: There are about 5 frequent A-class bugs [crash/freeze, etc.] that take less than a day of testing to find and reproduce) -
Inappropriate?1. Every time I double click an icon on my wall, it drops about a BT-inch (That's a BumpTop-inch).
2. Sometimes when I double click a wall, even when using Bumptop for a little while, BumpTop will flash with the 'BumpTop Revealed' message.
3. The lack of a 'Refresh' option in the right-click menus, or even under 'More...' if I change an icon image, or replace an image with an updated version of the same I have to close and re-start BumpTop for it to update.
And not an annoyance because it has to be there to be one, I want Crumple and Fold again :o -
Inappropriate?1. Every time I have to upgrade it, it installs the new version in C:\program files\bumptop instead of where I personally have installed the previous version of Bumptop, so there are two different versions of the same program on my computer.
2. The My Computer icon is all blurry. I'm on Windows Vista and even after toggling the "use default Windows icons" setting it still does it.
3. Needs more apps and other widgets, but I know that's to come. :)
I’m a tad impatient though...
-
Inappropriate?I wish I could get rid of the walls and have a flat desktop..
or get rid of the side walls, and just keep the back wall. (I don't like the 'dead space' thats left over in the upper left and right corners)
I’m annoyed
-
Inappropriate? When I zoom into the photo frames the image is poor and low quality. I know you would like to save resources but when I'm not doing anything tedious I would like the high resolution pictures back.
Create an option in the 'settings' to generate specified quality thumbnails.
Might as well provide a warning of the extra use of resources.
I’m annoyed
-
Inappropriate?1. The most major annoyance for me is not being able to lock icon positions. They're always moving when I grow an icon or a new shortcut is created on the desktop. I like to have things stay where I put them.
2. BT should come with an option to switch the function of the "CTRL+Right-Click" command. It's annoying when you right-click and then realise you're in the wrong menu. I'd like the normal Windows right-click menu as default and then hold down CTRL for the Bumptop one.
That's all for now... -
Inappropriate?1) Way too much CPU used by BumpTop when completely hidden
2) Icons on the wall dropping slightly after being clicked.
3) Sticky notes should be resizable by hand (almost unusable as of today)
I’m disappointed
-
Inappropriate?1) No Mac version (yet)
2) The Crumple/Fold from prototype missing
3) I would like the pie menu to allow for rollover branching. Use case described below.
Narrative:
When the pie menu appears and the mouse rolls over more if the user pauses with their mouse over the more menu it will roll out and reveal what is listed there. This could also be used to allow deeper menus in other areas while still only making the user click once.
Example:
User clicks and holds.
User lassos a group of 5 files
Pie menu appears
User (LMouse still) rolls down to the more pie menu segment
User pauses for .5 seconds (amount of delay can be changed in settings)
Pie menu -> More menu expands
User drags (LMouse still) down to 'Send to'
User drags (LMouse still) over to destination listed
User releases left mouse
I’m excited
-
Inappropriate?when starting the program I first make sure my start bar hides itself otherwise I won't get a full screen bumptop (I have windows vista and I want the start bar to be transparent, it just looks a whole lot better). not hiding the start bar before launching bumptop makes the transparent area of my start bar display my old and non-bumptop wallpaper. this is very annoying.
the problem now though is that it's very hard to zoom into the lower wall is as you have to double click it and with me it now hides under my start bar... a free camera would be nice
also being able to choose the font size of sticky notes would be nice or that it automatically increases when you enlarge the note
I’m sad
-
You can remove your start menu by auto-hiding it in windows, that way you get full screen BumpTop! -
sorry didn't mean that, I meant that the taskbar [I think I got the wrong name before] doesn't use transparency to display bumptop but displays my old wallpaper, even though bumptop is running -
Inappropriate?Just started using it, like the concept, but a few things are putting me off. Here are the top three as requested:
1. Icons sliding down the wall, very annoying.
2. The "More..." option not being very intuitive. Idea: Left Click and hold on the "More..." option, the most used commands slide down, while still holding the left mouse button down, you mouse over the command you want and then release the left mouse button to engage. "Most used" could be chosen by user preference.
3. Images are not "Loading full image" when it says it is, still low ress.
I’m undecided
-
Inappropriate?1) 2) Is there a function that will arrange the desktop by type (grid i guess, not pile)... gridding all icons puts them in some random order... what sense does that make for usability if they all shift randomly?
.... like in the right click menu for windows? I really just want it to clean up my desktop for me, its a lot of work to select, move, pile, etc... when it could just animate them all into place.
3) Is there a setting to line up icons better? When i toss 5 things on a wall, it would be nice if they were all aligned horizontally so that it looks organized, and not sloppy messy, and it's a pain to do it by hand every time
... i think it is one thing to be randomized and playful, but a fine line between that and good usability.
I’m lost in my messy desktop

Inappropriate?1) Images don't load fully when in slideshow mode (they stay pixelated)
2) No video support
3) When there is a pile near a wall, and you go to grid mode, the grid box gets crazy near the wall and pushes all nearby icons away (with incredible velocity), making a mess in the desktop.
I’m excited

Inappropriate?Bumptop is a great program ! Nothing really annoying (exept current crash bug after waking up, but i'm sure it'll be fix ;)
for me the 3 "annoying" point are :
- no widgets
- no thumbnail previews for pdf, and office files (on XP at least)
- can't change some desktop icon (recycle bin, default icon for all zip files...)
-
There are some widgets already available for Bumptop. A temporary place to find them is HERE: http://widgets.indakind.com
I am working on a new site for it so bear with us. -
I tried the weather thing...can't get it work... -
We have an installer for it now and no complaints yet. So it should work.
