Will beta testers get complementary license keys for bumptop professional?
Will the professional version be available to all us beta testers for free, due to the fact the have/are assisted/ing in improving it as it comes ready for release.

Inappropriate?Maybe the ones who were most active, those who noticed and reported the most bugs, you know.
I hope I get a copy of BumpTop Pro, IF I can even get a beta copy in the first place >:(
I’m unsure, but i'm hopeful.

Inappropriate? It sure is an interesting product but right now I'm just interested in using this and improving it to both sides advantage. :)
I’m playful

Inappropriate?Don't know any beta product where the publisher gave the beta testers the full licensed product. To be honest I don't see any reason for throwing out free copies. If you like the product after testing it you should afford it! If you just test it to get a free copy, quit beta-testing. My goal is to improve a product! I love having influence into the development of a piece of software.
I’m happy

If you are not testing the beta, then we do not get paid, if you are, some of us do not have a sufficient amount of money... -
Inappropriate?Well come on, i doubt bumptop is going to be a $300 product... I'd pay at -most- around $20 to $30... But I'm not worried about that, i want to improve bumptop, not get a free copy.

Inappropriate? What if Bumptop was to release a special Development License w/ api after release. This would warn off the devs looking to write malicious code somewhat.

Inappropriate?I don't think it would be a good idea to just give free licenses away to all the testers. I'm sure the testers make up a significant number of people who are interested in the product enough to buy it. If someone is interested enough in the product to actually apply for beta testing it seems like they would usually be interested enough to be a potential customer. Giving away free licenses to all the testers might ensure that there was absolutely no income from practically the entire initial user base. That just doesn't sound good from a business stand-point.
If you like the project, I say just support it by paying. I doubt the team is going to ask for a very high amount, anyway. -
Inappropriate?Beta testers are the people preparing the product to make money for the company which goes to say:
Beta testers = Money
I’m ticked off

Sort of. Beta testers just report bugs when they find them. While that is an important and helpful part of development, its no where near as much work as the actual programmers put into a project. In fact, some beta testers don't do a damn thing. They just download a beta to play with before the actual product is released. -
Inappropriate?Shouldn't BumpTop be free? I mean, spread to many many users, and think of a profit model, other than a one time license. Maybe not ads though...
What about website promotion through a picture-frame-like addon? Website owners will get to promote their websites and users will get to explore some interesting content based on their interest (e.g. photography)! For that service owners will pay on a per-view basis. -
Last I heard, the developers were thinking about having a free version, and a paid "premium" version with a few extra features.
