Docs wiki needs better search capability
Searching the Doc Wiki isn't working very well for me. My comments are best made via example, so, here are two.
1) I searched for "CRUD" (the data-related meaning) in the Wiki and the article for which I was looking (Adding CRUD Operations to a Class) was *way* down in the list, even though it had the phrase "CRUD" right in the title. The first search result returned was an article I don't even have permission to read.
2) I was reading the HowTo article, Using SQL Query Escaping, that talked about SQL Prepared Statements. I could have sworn that I saw an article returned in some previous search results on that topic, so I did another search for the term "prepared statements". No results were returned. So, I did a search for the phrase "preparedStatement". That search returned the article for which I was looking, but, if you notice, the article title has the phrase "Prepared Statements" right in it. Because the article was not returned in my first search, it appears that article title has no effect on search results.
Side comment: In example number two, the HowTo article SQL Query Escaping should probably contain a reference to the HowTo article on prepared statements, Using SQL Prepared Statements.

I agree that the MediaWiki native search capability is...wanting. Fortunately, we're working on moving from MediaWiki to a much better platform for Bungee Connect docs: Deki. Search is among the many things it should improve.
Amy has been working on the docs conversion for about a week. Next week, we're rolling it out internally for testing, and we hope that by the following week it will replace MediaWiki altogether.
Stay tuned.
I’m excited to be moving from MediaWiki.
