Can I edit/delete transactions or budgets through the API?
Is it possible to edit or delete transactions or budgets through the api? If not, are there plans to implement these functions?

Inappropriate? Please! Then we could at least work around some issues for which will take Buxfer a while to code up the correct solution.
-
Inappropriate? Its very frustrating that this doesn't exist, and because of the expansive javascript on the site, I can't even use something like WWW::Mechanize to try to do this through the site, this basically means that I can't test my scripts for conversion to buxfer from other systems, since the conversion will add like 800 bills...
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate? My only suggestion as far as testing is concerned would be to perform an import of all of your transactions into a single test account, then delete the entire account if the import does not work. You could dynamically create the test account on each iteration and remove them by hand later.
There is also Webservice::Buxfer on the CPAN you might be able to work with, but it too does not have a 'delete' solution.
I’m Hope they impl. txn deletion soon.

Inappropriate?good suggestion, I hadn't thought of deleteing the account, but even if I do that, the people I have shared bills with won't have those bills deleted... I could have a anonymization setup so that the bills wouldn't get put in with their real email addresses, and that might work...

In my experience using the API, the 'participants' value for shared expenses will take any string, not just an e-mail address, so you should be able to test. Good luck! -
Inappropriate?Guys, unfortunately we do not have immediate plans to expand the API. Its on our list of things to do, but might be a while. Sorry to disappoint you.
-
Inappropriate?Btw, what are you guys building using the API? I would be interested in knowing .. if these are things useful for the general user community, this issue might get a higher priority in the scheme of things.

My friends and I had wanted to migrate from BillMonk to Buxfer without losing all our old transactions and balances. (Your official "import" did not work correctly.) -
Can I create a transfer between two accounts?
One of the reasons to choice Buxfer compared to other similar services was the API. Discovering now that it is far from being a usable and complete API, sad. The opportunity to mange the accounts from different places, widgets, iPhone, Android, Quicksilver, QuickSearchBar etc are endless. Until full transactions can not be managed they will remain just opportunity. -
Inappropriate?I built an application for Google's Android OS called "Buxoid". It pulls down accounts, transactions, and analysis through the API and stores it locally on the phone. People on slower egde connections can examine their accounts and enter transactions that will be uploaded next time they can get a 3G or WiFi connection.
It could potentially be a much slicker app if the Buxfer API supported edit/delete. -
Inappropriate?I have custom code to sync with my banks, if edit/delete was available I could support "pending transactions", which would ensure my account balance was always correct in buxfer. It's not a show-stopper though...
