Good site. Could be great.
Buxfer is great when it is working 100% correctly. I would suggest a "prettier" GUI. I liked the interface of www.mint.com but the lack of iPhone accessibility brought me here.
A native iPhone app would be awesome too.

Inappropriate? Thanks Charlie. I would like to know what a native app can offer which a web app does not. Yes there are those times when you are stuck in a place without data connection, but is that the only reason, and how often do you encounter such a situation?

Inappropriate?Native apps just feel better on the iPhone.

Seconded. We really shouldn't have to justify a native iPhone app at this point, it is simply expected and if you want to compete on this platform (which will be your undoing if you don't) then you need to build it. It will only HELP your cause. Native apps improve the end-user experience significantly. -
Inappropriate? Thanks Chad for the insight. I don't doubt it will help our cause. I was asking to know what are the most important components users expect in the iPhone app which we haven't provided them with yet. And I haven't really gotten a good answer to that question. So expect a native app soon which does pretty much exactly what the web app does ...

Inappropriate?agree that a native iphone app would be much appreciated. all the other personal finance sites (e.g. Mint.com) all have native iphone apps... which is very appealing BUT i've been with buxfer for some time and like your interface much better! PLEASE consider...

Inappropriate?Regarding the native app. My wife and I often travel in countries where connectivity is limited. It would be VERY good to be able to enter transactions off-line with synchronization to the web whenever we come back on-line (either automatically or upon explicit user request).
Since we are living in a country (The Netherlands) where we cannot synchronize with our bank directly we enter all our transaction manually as they occur. The lack of offline feature results in spending long evening entering our business travel expenses on the web. With offline feature on our iPhone this hassle would simply vanish.
Another good aspect of offline feature/native iPhone app would be speed: just have the latest meta information (spending/income/IOUs) as last obtained from the internet plus a limited number of past transactions. You would end up with a much faster iPhone app than when you constantly query the net for info as soon as you press a button. Since it's for on the go consultation having the exact latest info always available is not a very important requisite.
I hope these comments help and will tip th escale in the favor of an offline mode on the iPhone app.
I’m confident

Inappropriate?Hello. I find myself in a very similar situation. My bank website (scotiabank, in Mexico) is crappy and doesn't provide me with any sort of options to allow me to auto sync with your service, so I find myself typing all my transactions manually. Having a way to do this offline as I make the expenses and then sync when I plug the ipod, or get to a place with WiFi would be great!
Also bear in mind that we're dealing with people's private transactions here, some people may not feel comfortable using WiFi connections that they don't know and trust, and would rather do these types of transactions offline and then sync only at hotspots they manage or trust. -
Inappropriate?Guys, we have an app available on the App store.
