Is there a way to make credits affect budget balances?

I have a budget for a tag Gifts. I paid for a gift that someone else paid us back for part of later. I tagged the expense and credit/deposit as Gift, but the budget shows that i have spent the full amount w/o the credit still. Is there a way to get the budget difference to reflect a credit?

what it's doing now:
-25 Gift
+25 Gift
-50 Gift
-50 Gift
------------
Gift Net expense: 150

what i want it to do:
-25 Gift
+25 Gift
-50 Gift
-50 Gift
------------
Gift Net expense: 125
