Inappropriate?The documents we'll be posting will be the funding documents for the companies. Those will contain confidentiality provisions but will not contain non-competition agreements.
I'm an investor in more than 20 startups, and I've never been asked to sign a non-compete as part of it. I don't think that's something that most investors will be willing to agree to. It's not that anyone wants to compete with you, but non-competes are not something anyone wants to get involved with unless absolutely necessary.
That is all post-funding. We don't sign any confidentiality agreements or non-competes just to review your application. I don't think you'll find any other investors or mentoring programs that will do that either.
I'm planning on writing a longer blog post about this topic because we've received a few questions about it.
