Inappropriate? Is there another way to fix it while we wait for the upgrade?
-
Inappropriate?Hi Matthew and Pedro,
We will release a Win7-compatible version when Windows 7 is out of beta and becomes a "production" release. It is under development now but we really need to wait until the Windows 7 code base stabilizes before we can release it to our customers.

I understand Len. Thanks for the reply! Better to get a response than to hear nothing from you guys on here -
Inappropriate? No problem at all. And Pedro, right now there really isn't a workaround for the shell integration issues. If you need to restore something, you could use the remote file access system at www.carbonite.com/remote (which should work in just about any operating system).

Inappropriate?Ok and thanks for the information.

Inappropriate? Now that they have an RC, and will be going RTM/Gold in a couple of weeks, how long until you have an update for this? I don't mind the workaround for restoring files, but the actual backup isn't happening (I keep getting errors).
I'd be happy to beta test it ...
Cheers -
Inappropriate?Bueller? Bueller? Bueller? So RTM is here. Donde Carbonite Update?
-
Inappropriate? Is there at least a beta version? I don't believe there is not one, since they say they are working on it. Maybe it's so full of bugs, that they don't want to release it not even for the ones who want to beta test it. I'm starting to be a little bit concerned about this delay. Windows 7 is just around the corner. And remote access forget it. Most of the times doesn't work.

Inappropriate? The update that was released a week or so ago WORKS on Windows 7.

Inappropriate?I finally opted to install Mozy on Windows 7 beta and RC, and it's always worked flawlessly for me. (https://mozy.com/?code=2AZEF0)
-
Inappropriate? The backup works, but the restore does not on v3.7.4.244. Is there a more recent update?
-
Inappropriate?OOPS - sorry I got the wrong problem. Thought this was LogMeIn.com! Nope, still not working AFAIK :(
-
Inappropriate? It's OK Peter. I installed the latest version, and the problems are still there. LogMeIn works just fine in Windows 7.
-
Inappropriate?Sorry. Forget about this one :)
-
Inappropriate?I too need this fixed...I have the RTM installed and now OEMs are getting released...come on guys release the fix!
-
Inappropriate?Actually, I was forced to use Mozy (which is free but limited in storage) and it turned out to be all I actually need and works fine with windows7. I might just drop carbonite.
-
Inappropriate?I've been very happy with Mozy, a competitor to Carbonite. I used it successfully with Windows 7 Beta and RC. https://mozy.com/?code=2AZEF0

Inappropriate?Windows 7 release where is it!? Everyone else has it out now!
-
Inappropriate? We are just a few days from Windows 7 final resease, and there's not even a beta version? I look at their site trying to find some new release, an explanation, and I find nothing.
I think that this type of customer treatment is very bad, and eventually the company doesn’t have the resources to provide a new release faster.
At this point, I’m going to start to look for alternatives. If they want to lose customers, no doubt this is the right thing to do. Too bad, because I think the software is good and with a few improvements would be even better.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Pedro, I have been very happy with Mozy. Would you like to try it? You get 2GB free with no time limit. It's only $4.95 per month if you want to have unlimited backups for one machine. https://mozy.com/?code=2AZEF0

Inappropriate?Guys, as of 10/12/2009 Carbonite now supports Win7. I exchanged emails with the support team this past weekend and they told me the new version would be ready today (Monday 10/12/2009). I just did a reinstall and Explorer integration now works with Win7 RTM.

Inappropriate?Nick is correct. Carbonite officially supports Windows 7. To upgrade to Carbonite v3.7.6, log in to your account at Carbonite.com and reinstall the Carbonite software.
