Tube bursted after trying to open a new Carmex tube
I have been having problems opening new tubes of Carmex. In the past, I have had problems opening a new tube, but with a little extra effort it opened. Today, I tried to open a new tube and was unable to open it. I gave it to my boyfriend to open. In his effort to open it, the tube busted yet the cap is still securely on. I understand wanting to make sure the cap is on tight, but it is way TOO tight. Unfortunately, I cannot use this new tube due to it now has an opening at the bottom and leaks. May I please get a replacement tube? Could you also make sure future tubes do not have the caps on so tight?

I am sorry about the problem with the tight cap. Jim Olsen our Director of Operations has identified which tube supplier is responsible for the stuck caps and has worked with them to see to it that this does not happen again with subsequent shipments.

Hi Paul,
I just bought a brand new tube of Carmex today (8/12/09) and CANNOT open the cap no matter how hard I tried!! I even bent the tube a bit in my efforts and had my BF try to open it. I have given up since my fingers started to hurt. Even though it's not expensive, can I please get a replacement? I'm glad I found this forum.

Inappropriate?I just bought a new tube today and the bottom blew out on me while trying to open the cap. The cap is on waaay too tight. I came here to report the problem (which it already has) and see if I could get a replacement. What bothers me about the replacement process is that I would have to spend 44 cents on a stamp to snail mail Paul to get a replacement tube that cost a dollar.

Inappropriate?The reason that I ask people to send me a note via regular mail is twofold: Some people are uncomfortable sharing their home address information electronically and secondly, in the past when I had a person reply via email, I got close to 6,000 requests for samples in two days. I don't like to disappoint people by not responding so it took us a few weeks to send out these samples. When I get people's address via post office mail I always include a few extra samples to more than compensate them for the $.44 postage that it costs them to mail me.

I want to know if I can do as the others -send you a note and get a replacement.
I still have the tube and even the box in case you need any information on the packet for getting a replacement.

Certainly... you deserve a perfect tube. I want to assure you that we did quite bit of investigation into this and we believe that we’ve gotten to the bottom of this problem. While we do our best to make sure that every jar, tube and stick that leaves our premises is perfect we will occasionally have a defective unit. That said, the larger number that we've heard about over the past several months was primarily due to one (former) supplier of the tube containers.
