Charter Communication Just Doesn't Care About Customers
Charter Communications is the only high speed Internet service available in our area. They have horrible customer service, and the Internet goes down at least once or twice a month. No credit to our bill, either. Call for customer service, and you'll get disconnected, the agents don't even know there's an outage in the area, and they leave you on hold for hours. Charter doesn't care about their customers, and it shows!!!

Counter staff is as apathetic & indifferent as the local branch management -
Inappropriate?I will only deal with the local office. The "call center" is terrible. One of the techs at the local office gave me free HD, free movie channels, and is only charging me $39 for expanded basic. I'm getting a $120 package for around $60 a month. It's just about who you talk and how you talk to them.

Absolutely, i think the folks who work on Mondays must wake up ready to victimize customers. Customers are not a priority for anyone i spoke with today and i was cool about my problem, but they could only read what was in front of them in their 'i wanna be a Charter Rep' booklet. i will take the advice and try to go through the closest office unless i can find a better deal with a satellite dish vendor. ANy one know what company may be best? -
Inappropriate?sadly aware of what a monopoly can charge and what they will and won't do for customers.

Inappropriate?I have the same problem with Charter. When the service goes down I call right away them so that they know that I am aware of the outage. When it gets up I call again and ask for a credit for the time it was out. Sometimes they say it will only be a few cents credit on my bill so I tell them to multiply that by all their customers. Let's do everything we can to hurt Charter where it counts.

Inappropriate? The times I've had luck with Charter was when I managed to contact someone higher up the food chain at the company. So far I've used a VP of "Customer Experience," a Director, Investor Relations and
Communications Charter Communications, and someone "from the St. Louis office." Here's a hint, they do seem to track blog posts about Charter Communications.
I’m tired from the effort

Inappropriate?I have the same problem, redrock. I am paying for 10MB and I am only getting less than 1MB at night time. I feel your anger and frustrations. ANY CHARTER COMMUNICATION CUSTOMER HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE VOICE YOUR COMMENTS AND ANGER!!

Inappropriate?I am so glad that Charter filed for bankruptcy. It only goes to show that a company that does not care for its customers will go out of business. It also shows that a company that uses cheap off shore help, like Indian customer service, gets what it deserves. When will companies realize that using Americans for American customers is good business.
I’m happy
-
Inappropriate?I totally agree with you. We have NEVER had any luck with their customer service. I think it is a classic example of a bottom-line oriented company that cares NOTHING at all for quality, or customer satisfaction.
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate? They have a terrible customer service. Their support systems are disconnected. I provide my name, phone, and address every time I speak with a new person. What I talk to one rep is not shared with other reps.
I’m frustrated
-
AGN we do apologize about that. If there is anything we can do please let us know. -
Inappropriate?@Umatter2Charter. I would think that the simple solution would be to make sure your support systems work, that your support people are trained, and that the answers you give people don't vary depending upon who is answering.
Apologizing is nice but actually telling people how you are addressing the issue would actually be helpful. -
Inappropriate? There is a process in place to where the information should be notated in your account. If that isn't happening once again I do apologize. It is our policy that everytime you speak with once the conversation is notated.

I am afraid Idontmatter2charter - I have paid $200/month for "full boat" services for over five years - 6 months ago a computer glitch has fouled up the auto-pay that I had setup resulting in "Nasty-Grams" every 2 months since for past due balances - I pay them, reset up autopay and two months later go through the same drill.
The thing that kills me is that here I am, a guy that buys the service TO THE MAX for YEARS and when I call customer service in an attempt to rectify TO THE BENEFIT OF CHARTER - the robotic, powerless, outsourced, "customer service" reps show no concern or sympathy - if U-Verse were available to me I would spend my $200+/month with AT&T tomorrow. -
Mr. Reynolds that is definitely a problem and something that should be corrected. Are you still having this issue? If some I would like to help you take care of this. -
Inappropriate?I can attest the same issue. I set up the auto pay, and two months down the road I get a 'late payment'
I have experienced this several times. At this point I am paying every two months because of that issue...
It is incredible that a company like charter that sells Internet services cannot have functioning systems...
Autopay does not work.
When calling to the company and talking to different reps, they don't get the information down.
Why do I get asked my phone number by the rep when I just punched it in because the automated system required me to provide it.
Charter needs better systems..
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Any word on if they will be bought out any time soon? They keep talking about Charter going under.
I for one am tired of it. You can't get service even if you beat the door down (I live right by headquarters).
-
Inappropriate? There are no plans for Charter to be bought out Xenaholic, but if you have a specific issue would would be more than happy to help you out
-
Well it was one (serendipitous) way to get you to come out here and talk... So about all the other problems... in the other threads...
