I hate chase bank. I have had nothing but bad service:(

I hate chase bank. I can't get good service with anybody from chase bank. I can't even get someone who speaks good english on the phone. All they care about is getting more money from me. The second I step into the bank, they try to sell me something I don't need or even want. From their credit card's to their checking accounts, I have had nothing but bad service from them. Since no one there will listen to me I am posting this online here. I will not stop posting (I hate Chase) until the day I die. If anybody out there wants to here more I would be more then glad to tell you how bad the service is at chase bank. My email is Drittler1@yahoo.com

The other day was my first time inside a Chase branch since they took over WAMU. The teller screwed up my $600 cash deposit. She takes my cash and counts it. She then puts it in a drawer and starts to run through my deposit slip. It is then that everything went to hell. Teller says "oh, I only counted $500 but I just noticed the slip says $600." WTH? I tell her I just gave you $600!

Long story short. Teller has to audit her drawer. She tells me her drawer is only $500 over, so that is all I could have given her.

Not only did Chase steal $100 from me, they also robbed me of a half hour of my Friday afternoon. Great way to start a relationship.

Put a letter in writing that identifies the time, place and teller station where you had the j100 dollar problem at. A copy of your transaction receipt might be very helpful as well.

Ask if they have video of the transaction. If they have integrity Chase Bank will make the effort to look up the time and date of the transaction via their security system to see what the teller counted out.

    In the meantime,

Learn about stuff Chase Bank is doing that may hurt over a million of their best customers.

DRITTER YOU'RE NOT ALONE. CHASE BANK IS UNDOUBTEDLY THE WORST INSTITUTION CARRYING THE NAME "BANK" IN AMERICA TODAY. ON THE CREDIT SIDE THEY CONSTANTLY BOMBARD CONSUMERS WITH "ZERO" INTEREST OR "MUST USE THIS CHECK BEFORE IT EXPIRES" NONSENSE. THEIR SCHEME IS BASED ON LATE PAYMENT FEES AND SCAMS AIMED AT MIDDLE OR LOWER INCOME CITIZENS. EXAMPLE: I POSTED AN ELECTRONIC PAYMENT - THEY CREDIT IT TO THE WRONG ACCOUNT - CHARGE ME A $39 LATE FEE. I WRITE THEM A LETTER - WITH DETAILS OF THE ELECTRONIC PAYMENT FROM ANOTHER BANK - THEY TELL EVERY STORY UNDER THE SUN - OH YOUR BANK DIDN'T PUT THE CORRECT ACCOUNT NUMBER ON THE CHECK VOUCHER., ETC. AFTER SEVERAL CALLS - THEY ADMIT AN ERROR - AND CREDIT THE ACCOUNT. THE REAL ANSWER - CLOSE YOUR CHASE ACCOUNT. THEY ARE NOT POSTING SAFE HARBOUR INFORMATION WHICH STATES THE NUMBER OF BAD LOANS ON THEIR BOOKS. THE COUNTRY IS BORDERING ON A DEPRESSION NOT JUST A RECESSION. THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION SHOULD IMMEDIATELY TAKE ACTION TO CURTAIL THE PREDATORY LENDING PRACTICES OF CHASE BANK. IF THEY ONLY WANT CUSTOMERS LIKE "BERNIE MADOFF" PERHAPS IT'S TIME THEIR DECISION-MAKERS SHARED HIS CELL. POST MORTEM: IF YOU DEAL WITH CHASE IN THE CREDIT AREA AND CAN DO SO - MAKE EVERY PAYMENT AN ELECTRONIC BILL PAYMENT FROM YOUR BANK - WHICH PROVIDES AN AUDIT TRAIL. THAT ESSENTIALLY STOPS THEIR "LATE FEE" PRACTICE WHICH IS A RUSE FOR SCAMMING MIDDLE AMERICA.

I completely agree with all previous posts. I am a Chase customer unfortunately. I was a WAMU customer and admirer until the merger. Chase practices an absurd amount of unfair and deceptive banking practices. They charge me for a transaction before the transaction has left the bank. Pending doesn 't really mean "pending" becuase if I have a charge pending they still charge me late fees even when the payment has yet to be made. They don't allow me to transfer money on a regular basis, a few weeks ago they told me I couldn't use the bill pay feature because there was a disconnect between the bank and outside creditor accounts. They advertise 24 hour online banking, but in fact their system updates on its own time, and is down for 7 hours each night. The online banking system is completely unreliable as they tell you it cannot be relied upon. They tell me that I should be relying on my own records and not their system~thats reassuring! They have changed their telephone banking times as well. If I don't call before 7pm I cannot get a human being on the telephone. WAMU had round the clock telephone banking help! If I try and transfer money from one account held by Chase to another account held by Chase, they tell me it still takes a day (for an online transfer)! This is absurd. Chase is full of excuses. It hasn't properly posted disclosures as to the banking services they offer, they mislead the consumer when they advertise 24 hour online banking and their banking system is completely unreliable. I really feel like they could be acting in violation of REG AA in some way. If anyone read this and knows more, feel free to respond. I will check back periodically. In the meantime know that I will be doing research on Chase's practices and if a suit can be had, we will have it! Chase bets on the average person being without a brain or the motivation to make a change. I am betting that there are motivated people out there that want, need and further demand a change to this type of consumer exploitation.

    ~~ extremely perturbed :(

I HATE CHASE BANK TOO!!!! I opened a chase account about 3 weeks ago ONLINE. I decide to move everything over to them because it's a local bank and it's GREAT right? NOT! They gave me the incorrect routing number, only about 5 times 5 different reps and out of the 5, 1 personal banker and one teller....All tell me oh you live n CA here's your routing number.....So I take it switch my direct deposit, pay about 7 credit cards and Friday PAYDAY comes, NO PAYCHECK!!! why? because they screwed up the routing number...then I check my credit card payments ALL had $39 late fees and $35 return check fees!!!!! I AM SO PISSED OFF!!!! ALL SUPERVISORS ARE HORRIBLE one told me it's my fault, because I should know...fkn BIT** omg over $300 in fees and NO PAYCHECK !!!!! I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN!!! THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE!!! NOTHING BUT INCOMPETENT INDIVIDUALS INCLUDING THE SUPERVISORS!!!!!!!!

So true, even when a debit transaction takes a week to post and it doesn't show up on their system its still your fault.

I don't know if anyone remembers the commercial where a bank demonstrated that transactions would appear on your account IMMEDIATELY. Is 7 days for a debit transaction immediate enough?

I can understand u'r pain. Trust me I do! I went in to my account about a month ago and realized there was 3,500 dollars more in my account than I should have had. So I went to the bank scared to death of what might be going on. I explained what had happened and they asked me if I knew this person and of course I didn't. Well to make a long story short someone in Texas typed in the number wrong and forgot to look at his name and deposited it in to my account. I told them I was not going to be responsible for someone elses money and they told me I am really sorry to tell u this but it is going to take about a week or 2 before we can take it out. It gets better! I proceeded to return home not only pissed but taking a second glance at my account and realizing the guy decided to put his s.s # on the deposit slip. So know I am not only responsible for his money but his s.s # as well. As it took me 3 weeks to resolve the problem and before u know it me and the bank are going round and round again.

    2nd month

I go to the bank w/ only my husbands bank card nothing else and ask to withdraw 3,000 and put it in to a bank check. The teller asked me if I was on the account and I said yes of course. So he continues to do the transaction. Asked me who the check would be made out to and I told him. In the matter of min. I am with check in hand and the guy is asking me if I would like to know my balance. Do u see where I am going w/ this? At what point can someone just walk up to the teller and demand money from u'r account and no one questions who the hell u are.

So yes I can understand u'r pain and Chase has to be the worst bank I have ever had to deal w/ !!!!

P.S please excuse my poor spelling

I Hate Chase. I'm a customer of theirs through inheritence. I was a happy Wamu Customer. But ever since they became chase all they do is nickle and dime you. I share everyones pain. All they care about s getting as much money as possible, they don't care if they lose loyal customers. I tryed to get a $39 returned payment check reversed and all they did was tell me it was my fault. They do nothing to prevent it like tell you theres something wrong with the transaction, The account was linked to my checking with plenty of funds, and they have the nerve to tell me I forgot a number in the account number, the account links automatically! I had nothing to type. I know the fee isn't much, but what effects me is that no one cares. Banks don't want to help people anymore, they just want to get as much money as possible in as little time as possible. I have multiple accounts with them, which will be colsed by the end of the week. I'm going to shop for a bank that actually cares about about people. I know the objective is to make a profit, but 70-80% of customers are repeat customers, if they lose one of two loyal customer, they lose a lot more through word of mouth. The horrible thing is they will do nothing for you, no help whatsoever, I cannot believe what my back has become. In the good old wamu days they would waive overdraft fees, and tryed to help you at least a little bit. Now! Its better luck next time. Too bad for you. I don't care. I just hope my new bank does not screw me over like they do. Down with Chase! Let them Die! They don't deserve our loyalty. We a all good people who are imperfect. It is obvious that chase doesn't care what kind of customers they have, as long as they get there money.

I too was a happy WAMU Customer. 1st bad transaction with Chase involved an online payment to my 2nd mortgage. Just as I had done for years, I made the payment for more than minimum due (on time) but entire amount was posted to principal reduction. None to interest. So when accessing my account page I was hit with the notice that my payment was past due. On calling customer no-service I was told that it would take up to 2 weeks to correct the problem. 2 Weeks! And it did take every bit of 2 weeks for the notice to go away. The accounting mumbo jumbo of debits and credits was so confusing, that I'm still not sure if it was handled properly.

Bad transaction #2: Chase recently took over the processing of 1st Mortgage payments. I admit that with WAMU I didn't always pay on the 1st of the month. If I paid bills a few days early or late, it didn't seem to matter. Never was assessed a late fee and never had any negative feedback. December payment was made online (from Chase checking to Chase mortgage) on Friday 12/4 in the morning. Sunday evening (12/6) I answered the phone and was told that my my mortgage was delinquent and what was I going to do about it. I explained that payment had been made on Friday, that didn't seem to matter to the caller (who had a very thick accent that was difficult to understand) who lectured me about late payments. This morning, 12/7 I got another similar collection call. I checked my on-line checking account statement, and low-and-behold, the payment had been taken from my account on 12/4 but not credited to my mortgage. It's now been well over 72 hours and mortgage has still not been credited.

At this point I called Chase customer service. She told me it takes several days for payments to post and would not give an inch.

One more thing; since Chase took over my checking account, I have yet to have one month balance. Never had a problem before.

I'm in the process of taking my business out of Chase and putting everything in a local credit union. The mortgage will be trickier, but I'll get it out of there ASAP.
