Cool Runnings - Chicago should be proud!

I hope this does not get "lost" in all the comments, but I wanted to say a great big THANK-YOU to the Tribune, the other sponsors and organisers of the Chicago Marathon. Most importantly I wanted to thank the people of Chicago.

I am a Canadian, living in Bermuda and was visiting your city this weekend to participate in my first marathon. Not only did I finish, but the feeling I got while running the streets of your city was the difference it made to keeping me going. From the people who braved the cold weather with us "crazy" runners, to those who dressed up and put on a show for us to the smallest of child reaching out their hand: all of this helped keep this runner going.

The feeling also went beyond just running the race. The whole weekend I was treated as a human; yes hard to believe in the stories you hear from large cities today. Other then the temperature (yes I’m a Canadian I should KNOW better), I had the best time while in your city and plan on telling everyone that I know.

I will be back.... With my running shoes again!
