Allow adding custom social media accounts.
It's great that chi.mp supports so many social networking services, but lets face it, there's no possible way you'll ever support them all. (Because there are new ones all the time, because some are so obscure they're not worth it, because... well there are plenty of reasons.)
But that's no reason to prevent chi.mp(s, is that the term?) from adding sites not supported. Just allow us to provide the link to our profile, and suck in the favicon for that site to display. Easy, no?
EDIT: Specifically, under Profile > On The Web, I'd like there to be an "other" service, which accepts a profile URL for any site, then displays its favicon (linked to the URL I provide, of course) on my profile under "where I am on the web".
Thanks.

Inappropriate?Dear Calrion,
If you go to Profile->On The Web-> and scroll to the bottom there is a place where you can add your other websites' URLs. It doesn't display the favicon, but I will ask the team if that is a possibility for a future release.
Or are you suggesting that you want another option called "Other Social Media" or something similar?
Let me know,
Aloha,
Laurel
I’m hopeful too!

Actually, it should display the favicon as long as the site provides one in /favicon.ico. In the future we may add some processing that would support detection of favicons in the same fashion as the feed service subscription. -
I tried this with my laurel.mp as an example and did not see an icon. -
Inappropriate?Three months later and is not yet implemented?
In "Where I am on the web" is still only the Flickr, Facebook, and something more, but have no the possibility to take freely the favicons.
I’m confused

Inappropriate? This functionality you're looking for as actually available. Read Laurel's post again.

I took some shots of me adding a website of mine take a look:
This is the url string

Here is the box to fill out:

And this is how it looks on that profile: (Note the yellow highlighting is just to show where it is located, this wouldn't actually have the highlighting on your page I added that.)

Hope this helps
I’m confident

Ok, it's a good way. :) -
Inappropriate?Yeah but the only problem I see with doing it this way is that if its a long url like some of these social network sites are it puts in a long title in and goes down to the next line and looks scruffy if to long with like for example www.gumbo/pages/the-Space-hopper.com where it would be better if you could put in our own title for the link and you could shorten it down yourself so it would be My Gumbo Profile or My ShareMyPlaylists Profile or something like that.

Inappropriate?Dear Phil,
I think being able to create your own labels is a great idea. I've added your suggestion to our list of requested features.
Please keep up the feedback!

Inappropriate? No problem like I say I'm a huge fan of your site and see its potential. What I like the most I will say is its look, its very well doing all the things you want it too but looks on a site are important and ease of navigation and chi.mp in its form now I think looks cool. Having things in one place is going to make it easier to keep up with social sites and update them in one place, love the blog too.
I did have another idea but I'll open a new thread about that tomorrow.
Cheers
Phil
