The company has this under consideration.
The best point from the company

We may add support for owner's to log into their chi.mp site with OpenID in the near future. It's been something we've talked about but have not gotten around to implementing yet.
The owner screen is already problematic with the differentiation (or lack thereof) between owners and guests. We're working on improving that and once that's in place we can work on other authentication alternatives for owner log in (like OpenID and perhaps Yubikey).
Thanks for your patience.

Inappropriate?I would like to associate an i-name (OpenID 2) with my chi.mp account.

Inappropriate?I already have an openID at claimID and would rather continue to use it to login to my chi.mp account - is that possible?
I’m unsure

Inappropriate?Indeed. I know quite a few people whom use open id / gravatar and prefer to use their old ones. Many don't like switching very often. They treat an openID as a username or password which one very rarely likes differences and changes in.
I probably wouldn't use this feature, but, I do know others who would. -

Inappropriate? If you are serious about open standards and users rights to control their identities, you should definitely implement loggin in with external OpenID credentials.
Anthony, we have been patient for seven months now.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Chi.mp is useless to me until it allows more freedom for myself and my guests in identifying ourselves to the site.
I’m disappointed
