Inappropriate? The update time varies, but should take no longer than 2 hours to cycle. Please let me know if you are experiencing wait times longer than that.
Also, what are your expectations for updating feeds? Is one feed updating more slowly than another? Are you speaking of a specific feed?
I will bring your suggestion of a forced update to our development team to discuss.
In the meantime, please let me know if you have any other suggestions.

My Friendfeed feed takes *days* to being updated (at least 24 hours). And there's an error in displaying the publishing time/date. It says in the feed on chimp that a post "has been updated 30 minutes ago" when in fact it was 22 hours ago, or it says "2 hours ago" when it was published a day ago. My expectation is an update time of no more than 15 minutes and I'd definitely wish for a forced update button. Please check out my page at benkwitz.mp and help me getting more timely updates, because I'd really like to use chimp instead of other pages as my universal profile page (but can't if it doesn't update feeds automatically and correctly in a timely fashion). Thanks for your help! -
I started following your FF feed this morning and I just saw a post come in in both my Feed Reader and chi.mp. In both cases the content came in around the same time (about 4 hours after it was published on FF). I'm not sure why this occurs but it did appear consistent.
Regarding the time stamping, the stamp to the right appears to be correct. FF also includes comments in the feed item and *that* timestamp is provided as content in the item, which means that it will not update and will be left at the value that it was when the feed is updated.
I hope this helps. There may be better ways to bring in data from FriendFeed, but for the moment we are dependent on how their RSS and Atom feeds work. -
Inappropriate?I haven't specially noticed any problems.
Also, I have suggestion to add a force update tool, I will add this as a separated idea, ok?
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?Thank you for the report.
Tech is looking into the feeds/bot updates/optimization. I appreciate that you listed your expectations as this is extremely helpful to us while we are designing the tools.
I think a forced update button for all feeds is a great idea and will see what I can do to get that on our sites. You can currently refresh each service from each service's edit page, but I can see how that might become difficult to manage with multiple services.
Please continue to send feedback!

Inappropriate?I was just thinking about this (thats why I looked up the topic), Chi.mp seems a bit on the sluggish side when fetching my activity here on Get Satisfaction.
Its been three hours since I added the feed and no updates have been recorded since. After I went into the service and manually refreshed it there were some updates found, but not the very latest (could be the feed thats slow though).
I dont need the updates on Chi.mp instantaneously (not even close) but I expect to see them there within the hour.
I’m thankful

It's unlikely that we'll do hourly updates of feeds for a while. We're working on reducing the latency between when content is published to feeds and when we update sites with it, but we have some distance to cover still. -
The first response by Laurel seem to indicate that the feeds should update at least every second hour. Would it be correct to assume that feed items will be at least one hour delayed but will be there before the posted item is two hours old?
