Implement OpenMicroBlogging
You have taken the idea of statusmessages (like Facebook, MSN, Twitter) into Chi.mp, which is a good idea since that is the new hottness nowadays. But why would anyone bother using it instead of another microblogging service or Facebook when it's only visible on your .mp website..
That's why you should implement OMB. OMBis an Open standard which lets you subscribe to the messages of others across services. http://identi.ca is the largest service that has implemented OMB til now, but more are comming. With OMB you can also automatically set your Facebook status message from Chi.mp, thus making it more attractive to use (since it won't mean more work.)

We had not planned on using OMB, and probably won't for the initial implementation because 1.) it is for pushing updates out to services and 2.) the services we will be pushing to initially do not support it.
I do like the idea though so we'll keep it on the radar. Additionally if we add push to laconi.ca at some point we'll see if we can do it with OMB as a trial. -
Inappropriate?How about ping.fm for status updates or hellotxt.com....These are the services where we can update the status for many websites with just one single interface...
