Inappropriate?I'm not a big fan of sites opening new windows and tabs for me rather I prefer to make that decision myself (by holding down the command key in the case of FF or Safari on a Mac). What do others think?

I think that you should allow for opening new windows/tabs. Twitter does. What if I'm browsing the content of a .mp site and i find something interesting? If I click it then I lose my place (interest) of the .mp site. -
Inappropriate?I did not bump this, but I think my comment is still valid. xD.
I do the same, Anthony. Often times when I click I link I am okay with reloading the page. If I want a new tab I use CTRL + Click or rightclick and open in new tab (in Safari...as Safari's 4 windows in new tab doesn't work so well yet).
I’m happy

Inappropriate? It's hard to make decisions like this because pages and people's browsing habits are different. This really should be a browser preference rather than an implemented link attribute.
I normally like to go with the rule if it's an external link then it should load in a new tab/page but internal links load in the same tab/page. That's at least how I expect most sites to act. A lot of sites us this and it makes sense to me.
A lot of times I choose to open things in new tabs anyway just because of the way I browse but everyone is different.
I’m amused
