Loan Modification Paperwork Lost - Again!

My husband and I both work for the same company. Starting in January, we both had our pay and our hours cut resulting in a 40% loss of household income. We filled out the loan modification paperwork over the phone with a great CS rep and mid-March. We faxed all the paperwork they needed - W-2's, pay stubs, loan agreement. We were told to wait 60 days for a response. We have called back and everything has been lost - there is no record of our filing! We are in real trouble here as we have worked our way through our savings. Tried sending the paperwork again in May - but noone seems to be able to find anything on us. Instead of help, our mortgage payment has been increased. Are we doomed to be another statistic in the foreclosure mess??
