No, we haven't abandoned our Marpol efforts, we are merely trying to decipher how Marpol will play out in the US and globally. We provide air quality solutions and it is unclear whether shipping companies will actually measure or monitor emissions, or whether they will simply rely on fuel improvements and inspections.
Until there is some form of enforcement there is typically very little in the way of action. Recent indications that US may actually adopt Marpol in its current state are encouraging, but just as likely is states like California stepping out and creating their own rules, which muddies the water for all, no pun intended.
