Allow videos to be played from within the application.
This would allow people to be able to see the videos without exporting. If you have a ton of usability tests this application should act to organize them, not just produce them. At the very least you should link to the exported video once they are exported.

The company has no plans to do this.

Inappropriate?Due to the way the different streams are captured, they need to be composited during export. As such I'm afraid we can't demo the videos in advance of export.

Inappropriate? What about previews showing only the screencapture, minus the audio, video, and click/keypress visuals?
Showing Silverback around the office today as a potentially valuable addition to our process the export delay was a significant hurdle to acceptance - the "tester" would click around, like the idea, we'd chat a bit about the value of UI testing, but then have other things to do and walk away before the video finished exporting. In other words, they walked away unimpressed.
The full value comes from combining streams, but there is also value in just a quick and partial preview. I often work from coffeeshops and would love to do some "guerrilla testing", but also be able to quickly play back a tester's experience in front of them so we can talk about how it went. A combined audio/video/screencast view isn't required for that, even displaying mouseclicks and key combos is unnecessary in that situation.
That said, this is still going to change the way I do testing, and if I can't get the office to throw in a few bills it's worth me buying on my own.
I’m hopeful

Inappropriate? As it happens we did something similar in our beta release. However when we usability tested the app (how meta) this confused people as they assumed we were only capturing that type of information. Essentially if you're going to preview it needs to be a preview of everything and not just part of the capture.

Inappropriate?I bet you will find a solution to display the captured information at real time. For instance it's possible to do that with Quartz Composer.app, so it should be possible for Silverback, too.
