Audio Capture Problem - Loud Hiss Only - Details / Log file enclosed
I'm having a problem with capturing Audio. I'm trying to use the internal mic, but all that is recording is a loud hiss.
1) Not a problem with the hardware - it captures both audio and video fine in iMovie.
2) Soundflower was previously insalled through ishowU but I uninstalled it - no change.
3) The problem is at the capture stage - not the export stage - the .mov file in the project file has the same problem with the audio.
4) Using the Silverback Demo version - OS X 10.5.6 - Late 2006 Macbook Core 2 Duo 2.0Ghz
5) Input is set correctly in OS X Preferences
6) Also tried using an internal mic - just hissing....

Inappropriate?Sorry to hear about your audio problems Calum. This is a new issue for us so we've raised it on our bug tracking app and will look into it asap.

Inappropriate?Updated my software and still no improvement. Whatever way the program is capturing audio from my system it is failing..... Let me know if you want need anything else. I guess as I'm the only person having this issue so it's not a priority.... Will probably wait until snow leopard comes out in the summer and give it another bash then. Am sure it has something to do with soundflower being installed previously....
I’m still a very sad panda

Inappropriate?Hey Calum,
Sorry to hear you're still having problems. I've raised this as a ticket with our developer and we'll look into it ASAP. However it's going to be very difficult for us to track down and fix if we can't reproduce the problem ourselves, but we'll do the best we can. -
Inappropriate?Hey Calum, we've built some extra logging into the next version of Silverback to help track down the problem. If you can let me know your email address I'll send you a copy of the next release so we can help get to the bottom of your problem.

Inappropriate?Hi Andy,
You can send the send the file to this address. If it is too large you could stick it into the public folder of your dropbox and then send me the link. Or failing that upload it to a file sharing site and expire it after one download. Let me know if that's a problem. If you get it to me for the weekend I'll do some testing then.
Regards
Calum -
Unfortunately (but understandably) getsatisfaction doesn't give us access to your email address, so can you email me on andy@clearleft.com and I'll send you the updated version. -
Inappropriate?I'd just like to say that the latest version (1.0.3 - 209) Solves all issues I was having with the hissing audio. Great work on a great bit of software.
I’m happy
