Clearleft 'gets' usability
I love Clearleft's simple user interface and clarity of purpose. Their customer service is first class.
In comparison with Morae, which suffers from the Microsoft disease and feature bloat, Silverback is a pleasure to work with.
The price is unbelievably low for what it is. I imagine that if they could add the lion's share of core features, such as batch export, they will win a lot more converts.
My only grip is the slightly unreliable export function. If it could harness hardware video compression then exports would be reduced considerably.
So far so good. Keep the good work up down there in Brighton.

Inappropriate? Thanks Simon, much appreciated. We're definitely going to be adding batch exoprt in the next point release, so what other features would you like to see in there?
As for hardware compression, are you talking about using something like a h264 encoding dongle? -
Inappropriate? The Elgato dongle might be worth supporting as it can be used in iTunes etc.
-
Inappropriate? Were you referring to specific cards then?

Inappropriate? The reason I mentioned Elgato's h264 turbo dingle is that of seems quite user friendly and can be used in conjunction with their TV software and iTunes. It's the sort of thing I wouldn't mind purchasing and carrying with my laptop when I am on the road usability testing. God knows if it's any good or appropriate for Silverback.
