Exporting sessions on other Mac
Today I wanted to export the videos on my other Mac (2 x Quad Core Mac Pro), because I needed my MacBook Pro. So I copied the files from the projects folder on my MBP to the projects folder on my Mac Pro.
All the projects and sessions showed up fine in the Silverback App, but when I tried to export them the app crashed immediately. Is there a way I can still export the videos on the Mac Pro? Or do I have to export them on my MBP?
Thanks,
Ward

Inappropriate?Hi Ward,
Thanks for the feedback. This is a known problem and we're currently looking into it, so hopefully we'll be able to push a fix in a future release. Until then I'm afraid that some users won't able to move projects between different machines for the moment.
I’m sad

Inappropriate?Hi Ward, can I just check if both the machines were using the same processor or if one was using an Intel and the other a Power PC?

Inappropriate?I've tried exporting the sessions on 2 of my other Macs.
One was a Mac Pro 2 x 2.8 Ghz Quad-Core Intel Xeon (4GB RAM - OS X 10.4.11) where Silverback crashed immediately when I started the export.
The other one was a PowerPC 2 x 2 Ghz G5 (2GB RAM - OS X 10.5.4) where Silverback just stopped responding, it didn't crash, I just got the turning beachball.
The machine I use for the tests is a MacBook Pro 2.4 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo (2GB RAM - OS X 10.5.4). -
Inappropriate? We did some testing on a Macbook (firstgen core duo) and I've since transferred to a meaty iMac (2.8 intel core 2 duo) to do the exporting, I didn't have any problems, although I agree that the process could be made a lot slicker :)
I’m happy

Inappropriate?Hi
I have a similar problem. My Intel MacBook just can't cope with exporting tests, so I've taken the project files and copied them over to my old Power PC that has more oomph. The files are all there and show up in the app, but when I try to export them nothing happens. No file is created, but it doesn't crash.
Running 1.1 on both machines, both with the latest build of Leopard. -
Inappropriate? There are some problems moving files from a Power PC to an Intel and vica versa due to the differing system architecture. However you should be OK moving between computers with the same or similar chip/OS.

Inappropriate?Cheers, Andy. Looks like that's another excuse to start thinking about getting a new Mac (that I can't afford!).
