Files are disappearing on export
I'm exporting a group of videos from a project, each around 20 or 25 minutes, but the files are just disappearing instead of exporting. The software isn't crashing, the files are just never showing up in the folder they're supposed to.

Inappropriate?Hi Andrew,
I'm sorry to hear you're having problems with Silverback. Have you had this problem before or has it only started recently?
If you haven't already, it may be worth trying exporting the files at a different quality, into a different folder, or onto a seperate drive to see if that fixes the problem.
If that doesn't work, it would be really useful if you could give me some more details about your computer so I can send them onto our developer. If you could click on the apple > About This Mac > More Info > File > Save As... and then email the file to anna@clearleft.com

Same problem, 40 minute interviews, tested different quality exports, different folders. No result, shorter videos (1 min) exported well. -
Inappropriate?this is a new problem for me after I upgraded to version 1.1 -- I tried exporting a project that had 7 30-minute sessions in it -- it took hours to export and then there were no files in the folder that Silverback had created. then I tried exporting the files one at a time -- the dialog box would come up saying "Exporting session to ..." with correct location/filename. when it was done, and dialog box went away, there was no file. I restarted my machine and tried again, same response. Plenty of free space on hard drive (41gb) to export at least 1 30-minute session. Mac 10.5.6 on a 2.6Ghz MacBookPro with 2 GB ram.
I tried Anna's suggestion to export at a different quality and when I did that, Silverback crashed
I plugged in an external USB drive with 370GB available to see if maybe 41GB isn't enough space for Silverback's new version 1.1 to export a 30minute session (it should be enough space, but I just thought I'd see) and the same thing happened -- dialog box with "Exporting session to .." popped up, took about 15 minutes, dialog box went away and there's no file anywhere to be found.
so I tried to reproduce Vesa's report above and I can easily create and export videos that are 5minutes long or less, but not the valuable 14 project videos I created. I tried moving the files to another machine to export -- not successful. My video files for my project are being held hostage in new version of Silverback that won't export them.
This has all wasted a lot of my valuable time trying to export video for a time-dependent project.
I’m annoyed that I upgraded

Inappropriate?Hmm... I lost my reply after logging in with open id... anyhow to make it shoerter this time around:
I found out that having a slash in project / session name cased the files to disappear for me. Removing those chars did the trick.
I’m relived

Inappropriate?wow, thanks, vesa -- i changed the filenames and project names and session names so they have no characters besides alphanumeric (no slashes, underscores, spaces, colons) and now exporting works.
clearleft - please fix this bug!
I’m still annoyed that I upgraded to 1.1

Inappropriate? Thanks Vesa for posting your solution, we'll aim to get this fixed in the next release.
