How to use the usb web camera instead of the MacBook Pro's iSight camera if testing with another monitor.
I want to use a usb web camera instead of the isight that my MacBook Pro has because I want to use a bigger monitor for the testing. Can this be done and how do you make sure the usb web camera is being used and not the MacBook Pro's iSight?
Also if this can be done are there only certain web cameras that can be used, if so which ones are supported?

Inappropriate? If you plug in a USB camera it should automatically take precedence over from the iSight. While we don't officially support any cameras other than the iSight, Silverback should theoretically work with any cameras the hook into the underlying video architecture, which should be the majority of them.

Inappropriate?Hi Kitty,
Silverback is really targeted towards usability testing so I imagine you'll be able to find a more general screen capture application that will do the trick better. -

Unfortunately if you can't get the camera working at all, it sounds like it's a problem for the camera manufacturer or Apple. If however you can get it working with other devices but not with Silverback, let me know and we'll look into it. -

Silverback is a video capture application we sell and this is the support forum. If you're having problems with amsn, I suggest you find a support forum for that particular service. Best of luck with your search.
