Is it possible to edit Silverback videos in iMovie '08?
I've been trying to figure out how to edit Silverback movies in iMovie '08, but I'm stumped. Whenever I go to File -> Import Movies... I can see the Silverback .mov file, but I can't select it. Has anyone managed to do this?

Not very helpful I know, but it works for me, so it certainly should be possible for you. Being able to edit Silverback videos in iMovie was always a key aspect.
Try sending us the movie file and we could see if it's a problem with the export.

I too have this same problem. I have iMovie 8.0.1 and Silverback 1.0.2. iMovie will not allow me to import the exported Silverback movie, but is ok with importing the video only movie. What is the solution? -
Inappropriate?I got the same problem here. Exported the file from Silverback in highest quality full size. Got several files all 1GB+. Can't import them into iMovie'08.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Hi M Vega
Sorry to hear that you're having problems with importing to iMovie. This does sound like a bug as import is working for others. Could you let me know what, if any, error message you get when you try to import? If you could also send over the exported Silverback file I can see if there's a problem with it.
Thanks
Sophie

I get no message. iMovie "grays" out the file, so that I cannot choose it to import into iMovie. I can send the file. Where do I send it? -
Hi Sophie - just checking in again - where do I send the file? Thanks. -
Inappropriate?Hi M Vega,
Please could you send an email to anna@clearleft.com and I will send you the FTP details for uploading the file.
Many Thanks,
Anna -
Inappropriate? The problem seems to be with videos with chapter markers in them. We're currently working on a fix for this, but in the meantime to get it to import, you can open Quicktime Pro, go to Window > Show Movie Properties, delete the "Text Track" and resave.

Inappropriate?Hi everyone,
We've built an iMovie compatibility option into the latest version of Silverback. Before, you couldn't import videos with chapter markers into iMovie. In the new version if you want to export a video for import into iMovie, go to Silverback > Preferences > Export > and uncheck "output chapter markers"
I’m happy
