Movie file size too large
Movie file size too large for sharing with facilitators remotely. I got a 112.8 MB file for a short 1 minute 32 second test just to kick the tires. This file size is too large to email, too large to even post to basecamp. If I had users testing remotely it would require me to setup a FTP just to get the video.

Inappropriate?Hi Nick
Thanks for reporting this. Please could you let me know whether you're on Tiger or Leopard, and what your export settings were for this test? Have you had the same problem with other tests?
Best regards

Inappropriate?I am using OSX 10.5.4 on a Macbook Pro. I did not change the export settings from the default the software had. I just hit the export button and told it a location to save it. It defaults to best/100% as far as can tell. Maybe it should default to medium or high? I dont think it should be any less than 100% as far as size as that makes it hard to see what's going on.

Inappropriate?Hi Nick
Best quality will make your files considerably bigger as it uses a lossless codec. If you want smaller files to send via email or similar, I'd recommend exporting at medium quality.
You can also change the size of the video image in Preferences/Export preference. This will also have an impact on file size.
Thanks

Inappropriate?Hi Nick,
Thanks for the feedback. Just to follow on from what Sophie said, we see the 'best' quality export being used for your local machine, in presentations or being burnt to DVD. For sharing amongst colleagues we would recommend choosing the 'high' or 'medium' settings.
We've done a lot of benchmarking, and the files sizes produced by Silverback are in the same ballpark as other applications. That being said, we are expending a lot of effort at the moment optimising exports to get the best balance between quality, export speed and file size, and we'll continue to do this once the app launches.
