Real Time Remote Usability View
Love Silverback. Currently, though, at Trusera we use it only for archiving our usability sessions. We generally do most of usability sessions live with a video camera set-up for the folks in the next room. (We follow Don't Make Me Think and Steve Krug's attitude about low-tech, continuous testing.)
If we could see a remote view of the session using the Silverback interface (i.e. the iSight face view, the cool waterdroplet clicks, and the screenshot), we could dispense with much of the complexity of our set-up.
That'd be very cool and would be worth spending extra for a Pro version. (I'd expect a free upgrade personally, though :).

Inappropriate? If we can work out a way to do it and have reliable performance, it's definitely something we'll consider.
I’m thankful

Inappropriate? We also use remote viewing in my company. I've been using www.gotomeeting.com to screen share as a hack, but built in support would be much appreciated. I personally need to have Windows and Mac viewing clients.

Inappropriate?I'm wondering this same thing... I set up a video iChat connection via bonjour with two computers in the office, but then Silverback could not use the camera.
We can use iChat's built-in ability to share the desktop view and the audio, but we're missing the live video facet. It's too bad only one app seems to be able to use the iSight camera at a time (someone enlighten me, please if I'm off here).
I tried to use Photo Booth (moved onto a second, powered off monitor) as the live video feed into iChat's screen sharing, which actually worked until Photo Booth lost system focus, then the video stopped.
So, anyway, yeah... some sort of Silverback Remote Viewer would be awesome for use over a local network... the pieces seem to be all there, just not quite connected. Any ideas or suggestions other than setting up an isolated camcorder?
I’m grasping at straws

Unfortunately you're right that only one application is allowed to control the camera feed at any one time.
We're definitely interested in looking at adding a remote component. However that probably won't come for a while yet I'm afraid. -
Inappropriate?Andy, thanks for writing back to me. I'm looking forward to watching Silverback grow and mature.
I’m happy
