Watch iSight video without exporting
Did you know that you can view the iSight video without having to Export?
Just go to your Library/ Application Support / Silverback folder. Open any session folder and you can play the Quicktime video. You won't be able to see the screen session, but if you are just using Silverback to record depth interviews you can forgo the lengthy rendering process.
I presume that Clearleft knows about this, but I thought the rest of us would benefit from this tip.

Inappropriate? In an early version of Silverback we actually showed a preview of the iSight video in the session panel. However during usability testing we discovered that it confused people into thinking only the iSight video would get exported, so we dropped it.
We currently looking into the feasibility of previewing the results in the app, but this feature won't be out for a while. So in the interim, this is a useful 'hack'
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?I suppose that I meant to say, that in heaven it would be good to see the composite render (iSight feed + screen) running in preview mode. Sort of a low-res version. I now understand that you would need a Cloud computer to render video in real time.

Some apps manage to do the preview stuff so it is possible. Just very difficult :-)
