No success whatsoever!
First one I tried the software said there was not enough photos - used other panorama programs on the same photos and it has worked. The second panorama I tried it plonked all the photos on top of each other! The same photos work fine with other software!

Inappropriate?Not that I'm any expert but I would guess that maybe the photos you used didn't have sufficient identifiable points to align?
Having said that I too have had this problem with a few panoramas that I thought had sufficient distinguishing points to merge with and which I subsequently stitched using another piece of software and then used CleVR to upload to my blog.1 Comment

What "other" stitching software did you try ? -
Inappropriate?grajay is correct that this is down to the software being unable to correctly match the images. Different software uses different algorithms to do the stitching, so will each have different results.
