Feature request: Point to IP instead of local folder.
Feature request: Point to IP instead of local folder.
i.e. often I'd like to work inside a CMS on a remote server that is not yet connected via DNS so I still have to manually edit the host file. (Plesk preview is just a messy hell...) Would it be possible to add such a feature?

I'm hesitant to add that feature because it doesn't really fit with what VirtualHostX does. It would mean adding a line to your /etc/hosts file without a matching virtual host entry.
What you really need is a dedicated hosts file editor like Gas Mask:
